Good job Toronto, but don't give him the next contract (this one will end at 30 y/o fine deal)

Sometimes players with partial no-trade clause gambles, on some team they think will not trade for them in order to block more teams.
Or
1- Montreal told him he would be traded right away
2- He is down to play in Mtl (I'm skeptical, he had a better chance of winning hockey games in Pittsburgh)

Petry forgot to put Montreal on his no-trade list lmao

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Considering they could have just signed DeBrincat whose younger and better, not so sure about this. Also have to wonder what this means for Pinto.
As for the player himself, this feels a little high. He's got injury issues, but when he's in the lineup he's great. 50 points in 69 games. I don't think he's the goal scorer he used to be with just 18 goals last year. Really confused as to why they didn't just re-sign Cat.</div></div>
They got assets for Cat and sign Tarasenko without giving assets

Pierre Dorion got what he deserved, if you trade for a player (especially US born) make sure you have a long term contract before you pull the trigger

I'm not sure the coach likes KK, but I agree your second point I don't get the trade for Newhook, time will tell

Good deal, not much performance bonuses is a good thing if KH is looking to trade him at the deadline, because the bonus will fall on the new team and it would diminish the trade assets that teams would give back

I don't get why many people are saying that the goal is to reach the salary cap floor, many team have bad contracts and they are willing to give assets to get rid of them. Either Chicago thought that it was a good signing or they are pretty bad at assets management
