Hronek could prove me wrong and I hope he does, but that was not worth a potential 16 OA pick AND a high second in a STACKED draft. Allvin would've done better had he just hung on to those picks and improved our tiny prospect pool.</div></div>

Dream offseason

Cheaper cap hit (2.5M) for Van than Myers at 50%, and saves them a retention slot. Both expiring contracts. Could bury him to shave another million off the cap hit or just use him as a 6-7 d, which he hasn't been completely terrible at.
Vancouver moves a bunch of cap without paying through the nose or wasting a retention slot. Arizona saves a bunch of real dollars.
Though if Vancouver is rebuilding the roster next year, do they really need the cap space?</div></div>
You would think, but the Kuzmenko extension and Horonek trade make it pretty clear that management thinks this team can turn it around next year.

Just what exactly do you think Grzeleck is worth?! I get that Boeser has little value right now but a conservative estimate would be a second round pick. You think Grez is worth 5 second round picks, seems like an extreme exaggeration

It's just a different path then repeated Boeser moves.</div></div>
Yes they need centres and dman, so that means the answer is to trade your franchise goalie for a 3rd line center and an okay d prospect?! Makes no sense to me

It’s not that far off, that package might get you Boeser without retention.
At this moment I don’t see the point in trading Boeser, has little value and a great bounce back candidate. Pittsburg should be all over him

I really believe the notion that Miller is a toxic person is really overblown. It’s based solely on a couple viral clips from this year. Last year everybody loved him and there were even calls to make him captain instead of Bo. If he was truly as bad of a personality as people think he is, it would have been known before his 10th season in the league. This isn’t to say that Miller is the greatest guy ever or that he is even worth his contract, and you’re right he clearly does have attitude issues. I just think they are very exaggerated at this point

Realistic Canucks Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac555</b></div><div>Why are you just giving the Canes Dermott? Did I miss something? I was told by some others on here that he is good.</div></div>
He’s a good player, solid puck mover but don’t see him having much more potential than a bottom par dman. The issue is that he is constantly hurt. He would have very little trade value because his Qualifying Offer will be 1.75 million this off-season and given his health of late he’s a likely non tender at this point. Like the player but would rather see the Canucks use his spot to develop a younger player.

That’s a lot to ask of the Canucks to retain that much for that long. You’re right that Niemola would be involved in that kind of deal, and a one for one swap could work without retention . I don’t see that Leafs taking garland at full cap. Just not sure there’s a fit here.
