This is an offer worth considering.
However ...
If DeBrincat is willing to sign an 8 year extension for only 8 million, then he's staying in Ottawa.
Ottawa declines.

Jack Hughes: over a point per game in the last two years, bonafide 1C.
Seider you could <strong><em>Maybe</em></strong> (and it's a verrrrry big maybe) make an argument for but Zegras, Cozens, Boldy, Dach and kakko (side note: lol) are not in the discussion when compared to Hughes.
(Kakko 10 points in 30 games vs Hughes 34 points in 29 games btw)

Optimized Oilers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>So you think trading Barrie for a next to nothing just to sign a bunch of losers is a good strategy? I just don't see it.</div></div>
I view Barrie as a cap casualty. His role has become redundant due to the emergence of Bouchard, as well as Broberg likely being promoted from the AHL. Trading Barrie for a modest return opens up cap space to sign McLeod and add additional depth to the lineup. It's a better solution than selling low on Pulju or strapping an asset to Foegele in order to move his cap hit.
Holl would be a solid partner for Broberg/Murray and would help to suppress zone entries, which the Oilers struggled to do throughout the previous season.

Petterson

Compare that to Petterson who doesn't even want to be there...</div></div>
So the Canucks trade their 23 year old franchise centerman with several seasons under their belt including a calder trophy and 3 65+ point seasons for a 21 year old who has dealt with serious concussion issues in the past? Byram is an LHD which is what we are already stacked on. It would be a brainless move to trade our franchise centerman for another LHD

Where has anything said he doesn’t want to be here? Byram would be our second pair D man and make OELs contract hurt even more. Pettersson is not available. Even if you think Byram is “fair value” teams don’t just trade superstars for “fair value.”
I would love Byram, the fans would love Byram. Not if it costs our best forward whois a two way beast that dominates in every situation and, when healthy for the second half of the year, had a 46 goal 96 point pace

After Training Camp
Woof, that's a terrible deal. Josh Bailey is a flawed player, but he at least produces - he's outscored Josh Anderson in every. single. season. that Anderson has been in the league. And GSVA says that, despite his reputation as an offensive-minded player, Bailey actually was less awful on defense than Anderson was. I'd rather ride out the last 2x$5M of Bailey then sacrifice a 2024 1st to raise that cap hit to $5.5M and stretch it out over 5 years.
I also don't see Washington trading an asset for Dvorak after they signed Dylan Strome to a $3.5M deal this summer. I think they're going to ride with him as opposed to giving up a 2023 1st for a guy who's not that much of an upgrade.

If Ottawa isnt willing to add Greig to a Chychrun deal then theres no way they'd even consider adding him to a Schmaltz deal. At least Chychrun would address a need, why in the world would Ottawa pay that sort of a premium to bring in a 3rd line centre? Lol

Trade with OTT
Just a horrific deal for Ottawa. Ottawa gives up the best player who is their only top 4 RHD and three good prospects to downgrade to a worse left shot Dman, and lose on the future side too.
Zub >> Kylington
Kastelic + JBD + Sokolov >> Beck + 2nd.
I like Beck as a 67, but I don't see an every day NHL player at the moment. His offensive tools serve him well at this level, but I don't see it translating to NHL offense, and his poor defensive play and lack of strength will get exposed. He strikes me as someone in the Cory Connacher zone. Elite AHL offensive talent and gets NHL games as a result, but is ultimately not that guy.

Robertson trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffGorton</b></div><div>Suzuki isnt holding out on a contract. Suzuki is a future captain. Center is a higher value position than a winger.
Harley is nowhere near the same as Guhle. Harley has the same floor but way lower ceiling than Guhle. Anderson is better than Gurianov. And for the 1st, most likely a 6-10 pick in 2024. A stronger draft than 2022.
You also forgot about the Khudobin cap eating which easily costs a team a 2nd rounder at the very least</div></div>
You can tweak it the way you want, there is like 10 person on your post telling you you're way off, some not even Dallas fans.
Yes suzuki is under contract and play center but no matter how much dollars he sign for Robertson is worth it and as a much higher production rythm.
Maybe anderson is better than Gurianov but also older and more expensive for a longer period of time.
Yes Guhle should be better than Harley but both still has everything to prove in the NHL.
The pick cant be top 10 in 2023, top 5 in 2024 after your conditions, with that roster anyway its probably not even possible.
You are just wrong my friend its okay
