Huh? It’s not in a vacuum, Edmonton would not carry 3 goalies on the roster they would trade one of the two that stink. And there are plenty of other ways for them to move money around to make it work unless they want to keep bashing their head against the wall with the same team every year

As for rask. Yes. I realize that. So what?</div></div>
So why sign him now? Wait until after he has the surgery and he’s sure he wants to come back and you’re sure that he can come back. And going with the young guys is exactly what they did this year and how did that work out? I don’t understand the opposition to signing a guy like bogosian who can only help.

Completely unnecessary to sign Bogosian.
Resign Rask instead of Raanta.
I think Coleman will be looking to cash in after winning 2 cups.
These guys are not going to sign team friendly deals for 4 years. maybe 1 or 2 (coleman/saad)</div></div>
I can agree with Coleman, but not Saad. Value has dropped considerably in the last couple years and he’s no longer worth 6 million a year. 5.5 at most maybe but even that is a stretch.
As for rask he is going to be out for half the season and I doubt they have the confidence to go with a tandem of swayman and vladar for that long.

Seeing as how we’ve lost defensemen to injury for the last 3 years in the playoffs I’d hope they’ve learned by now you can never have too many (keyword) ~reliable~ defensemen. Bogosian may not look necessary at face value but who else will it be? Clifton? Kevan Miller ? John moore? Rather have the depth from the beginning and not have to trade assets for it at the deadline. And as for rask you realize he is going to be out for at least half the season right?

Rask is the ride or die. He’s the only one who’s going to play when it comes to the playoffs and we saw what happened when we had to play halak last year in the playoffs. Might as well get what you can for him if someone’s willing to pay. Worst case scenario one of the young guys gets some playoff experience if rask can’t go

There is zero reason for anyone to think that the bruins are likely unable to sign carlo.
I think a lot of people need to ask themselves what eichel has done to make them think that he is that good.</div></div>
I didn’t say the bruins would be unable to sign him I said theres a good chance they’d refuse to meet his asking price as they’ve done to young players in the past. And if you really think Eichel isn’t an elite or at least #1 center then by all means they shouldn’t trade for him, but there’s no disputing he has skill and is a capable top 6 center. Besides studnicka and maybe Beecher what’s their future at center look like? Coyle sure doesn’t look any better than a third liner. Can’t kill a future they don’t have

I fail to see how the team is destroyed? You automatically become the cup favorite, the picks, vaakanainen and Carlo are the big losses and Carlo’s probably getting dealt because the bruins won’t give him what he wants on his next contract anyways and as far as cap goes, Ryan rask and halak come off the books, and if they re-sign rask it’s for less than what he’s getting now. You leave smith and grzelcyk unprotected and one of them most certainly gets picked in the expansion draft

Could totally see this
No way they’d help Tampa like that, if anything they should offer sheet Cirelli or Sergachev. That way you back Tampa into a corner and either get a really good player or force Tampa to match at a higher cost than what they can really afford, screwing them up further cap wise

Senyshyn requires waivers this year so more likely they keep him around and give him a chance at least to start when studnicka is still waivers exempt

Boo hoo it’s not interesting enough, the atmosphere isn’t right, it’s not real playoffs. Nobody wanted this but it’s what we got, and all his teammates seemed to get through it just fine. It’s a month and a half long at most. If I was making 7 mil a year I’d like to hope I would be able to suck it up for a few weeks of games without fans and the outside world.

You’re right, it is none of my business, but if I was an aging player on that team and saw rask out on the golf course while I was working my bag off with the rest of my teammates with a legitimate chance at a cup, maybe the last chance, I’d be a bit pissed off and I don’t think that’s something that would fade away too quickly

Maybe he’d be with his sick child instead of out golfing? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of coming home? He texted a bruins analyst who he’s friends with that story only after he started getting backlash from media, and true story or not that is a fact. Said nothing of it to the media before he left, but did make comments about not being a fan of the bubble. Couldn’t even give the coach a heads up before leaving.

You don’t think Bjork could step up and make that a legitimate 2nd line? He’s looked a lot better as of late and has a higher ceiling than DeBrusk. Give him krejci and more ice time and I think he will excel. At least that’s my reasoning for this, it’s not like I planned on trading DeBrusk for a rw with no lw replacement
