All Russian 3rd line
What the other guy said, pens dont need Dipietro at all. They have Jarry who is solid, Desmith is a fine backup, then in the pipeline they've got a few decent goalie prospects like Blomqvist. You asked the other guy about dumos value? I say somewhere around a 3rd +4th pick. A 2nd seems to high for him, but I could def see some team being dumb enough to offer a 2nd for him.

Off-season
I like this team I just dont know how it all fits together...
So you bring in Bear? Love it. But you keep Marino? You only bring in Bear if you dish Marino...
Also. Look at how expensive that blue line is...
The pens had massive issues with SCORING in their second half of the season especially from their bottom 6. So your soliution is to bring in a guy who had 4 points and ZERO goals with the Flames and then inject him into the top 6? I like Jarnkrok too but like... I dont really know if thats the solution. Take the money you gave Bear and Jarnkrok and use it to bring in a better 2nd Line LW who can actually score...
Then there is issues with your AAVs on some people. I dont think Rodrigues comes back that cheap (although I do agree thats what hes worth). Then you overpay for Desmith too...
I dont mind the AAVs on Geno or letang those are fine
I dont even hate this team it just fits weirdly. Look at the Pens last year. Expensive but capable blue line. No depth scoring. So your plan is to further dig the blueline into a hole (financially), and then weaken the scoring? Idk...

I think PIT possibly accepts. Im seeing Kerfoot for a 2nd mocked lots. I think that trade works for both teams I just feel a 2nd is a little too high. But I also feel a third is too low...
Its very close. Maybe a 3rd + 4th?
Either way. Good deal for both teams.

Says you buddy. I analyze players all day at work since I work nights and have nothing to do. I look at stats, analytics, contracts, age, intangibles, and watch film on guys. I am very confident in my ability to evaluate players. The ONLY people saying Garland is better than Marino is canucks fans.
Hell, the reported deal that fell through at the TD this year (before the Pens traded for Rakkell) was Garland + Hoglander for Marino and a 4th... THAT is where Marino's value is in the real world. In your fantasy land he's worth less than garland, come on down to the real world and join us here...

Value wise, you'd need to do more for Chicago trade.
I think the Vegas one makes a lot of sense for both teams idk why everyone is saying VGK declines.
As for PIT. I think value wise it isn't bad, however I think it would take a tad more to get it done. Any type of salary retention by DET on Sunny and I think it's enough for them to say yes. I think Hextall and Burkie like guys like Sunny. I personally wouldn't make that deal, I like both Kappy and Petey. If I was Pens I would clear my cap space elsewhere (Dumo, Zucker, McGinn)

"Why is it always Dumba? Dumba plays a lot of minutes for us. There are a lot of things that Matt Dumba does very well. Everyone has their flaws. Kevin hasn't been good during the playoffs, but people are all dying to keep him. If I sound a little pissed off or annoyed, that's because I am. Because all I hear is that Matt is getting clocked, and you know what? It's not easy to do what he did, to play in the state he did. I like Matt Dumba. I think he's a damn good defender, and people want to run him out of town just because Kevin had a good three months." - Bill Guerin
"I don't know if it's going to be possible. But we have to dig into it a little bit and to see what we could possibly do. But there is uncertainty." - Bill Guerin
"On a local radio interview, Minnesota GM Bill Guerin spilled the beans on what he thinks about certain players on his roster. With trades needing to happen this summer, Guerin made it clear that he wants to keep defenseman Matt Dumba in St. Paul and could easily depart with Kevin Fiala because he has only “had three good months.”
This is NOT the only website that has quoted this exact thing either. I could easily find you multiple more news sources of him saying, or better yet, I'll go on youtube and find the audio clip for you. He very clearly said that he is prioritizing Dumba over Fiala...
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drmantalban</b></div><div>
He’s an 80+ point guy if you give him even 1 quality player. Not sure on his ceiling if given 2 quality linemates. It’s never been tried.</div></div>
If you stick me with two quality players im going to put up higher numbers too? What's your point. EVERY PLAYER in the league will be better with two quality players on their line vs none. What kind of an argument is that. The REALLY good players are the guys who can produce with ANYBODY. That's what separates the "elite guys" from the "pretty damn good" guys. Fiala falls in that "pretty damn good" category. I'm sorry but you are flat out wrong. Fiala is not a regular 80+ point guy. He's a very ****ing good player, but I highly doubt he gets over 1ppg again in his career, unless he's obviously playing with a Mackinnon, a Crosby, a Mcdavid, a Matthews, etc etc etc. He's due for a regression.

You can expect progression and bounce back seasons from certain guys sure. But it NEVER works out for everyone. If you've got 6 guys you are needing to step up, the reality is, usually only half of them do.
I def think Johnny Hockey would make you guys closer, I just dont know if I trust that D Core and Hart after that miserable season. I could see your forwards bouncing back but boy does that D Core and Crease look shaky as hell and I don't see much improving this season. York might be that silver lining.

I think it would take a bit more for JT.
Also. I think Boston is very comfortable with their top 4 as it sits right now. They saw Lindholm as their missing piece and now they have what they feel is a "complete" top 4. I doubt they move a piece of it unless the return is worth it. I agree that JT Miller would be worth breaking up the top 4, I just don't know that Boston is going to be actively shopping anyone in their top 4. I doubt Miller ends up on their radar because of this.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OlegP</b></div><div>Its a weak draft. It isnt the 2023 2nd OA with Michkov there. With covid stunting development, this is a weird draft class. I wouldnt call Cooley a sure bet as elite. Looks more like a 2nd liner. Nemec is the safer pick. Fiala should be worth about 7-10th pick in a decent draft class, add Foligno in there then the 3rd. Its certainly fair. Devils fans will go nuts from what ive seen as they think this 2OA is a sure fire bet to be elite not taking into account anything other than best case scenario for the pick.</div></div>
First off. Fiala is NOT worth a 7th-10th pick straight up. I know he just put up 1ppg but that was his first time doing it. He keeps this pace for another season or two? Sure. He's worth that. But that would be a hell of a risk dishing a top 10 pick for fiala straight up right now...
I get what your saying about this not being an elite class but still. Even factoring in everything you just said. It's still worth it.

Pens decline.
Marino - Boeser is a fair trade off. But Kapanen is better than Rathbone or Highmore. And Poulin is worth more than either of those guys. Nylander is just kinda a whatever bottom 6 prospect.
Then you ADD in Myers. I dont think you understand. You have to pay someone to take Myers even if you retain like you did...
I just look at it like this. Kap for one of Rathbone or Highmore is a trade off but the pens still lose value. Marino for Boeser is a trade off.
So that leaves basically Nylander + Poulin for Myers at 4mil and one of Rathbone/Highmore? Thats an AWFUL deal for the Penguins.
The core of the trade isn't bad but it just doesn't really work with everything else you added in.

That pick is confirmed as the 2nd overall pick. That's absolutely a good trade for the 2nd overall pick, strictly talking value wise.
Now you can argue if that is what Minnesota NEEDS right now. I personally think they do. Grab an elite prospect Centerman to play with Kaprizov like Cooley. That way you set yourself up for a future with Rossi/Cooley down the middle with Kaprizov on the wing. That's 3 great prospects to build around.
