(MTL/DET) - Verbeek + 2021 5th round pick for Merrill
The most underrated part of this trade is the habs adding another player whose first name starts with J, joining:
Josh Anderson
Jesperi Kotkaniemi
Joel Armia
Jake Allen
Jake Evans
Jan Myšák
Joel Edmundson
Jonathan Drouin
Jeff Petry
Jordan Weal
Jesse Ylönen
Joël Teasdale
Joseph Blandisi
Jacob Lucchini
Josh Brook
Jakub Dobeš
Jacob Olofsson
Jordan Harris
Jacob LeGuerrier
Joni Ikonen
Jack Smith
Jayden Struble
Edit: 23/69 players (one third) of players in the Montréal organization have first names that start with J.

Man our picks this year are looking great! Guhle didn't look out of place in the AHL neither has Mysak, Tuch has showed up big as a freshman in the NCAA by keeping up with his USDP point production of .65, Farrell is just destroying the USHL and Dobes' numbers are looking great this year (2.57GA / .903S%).

He's been very good in the AHL at 18. His progression has definitely been promising since he joined them. I look forward to watching his development in Laval

(FLA/CHI) - Hinostroza for Morrison
This looks like flordia just getting cap space for a deadline deal to get a well needed defenceman, they get morrison in return as a pretty good ahl player that could played for flordia. I give chicago win but its nothing like a insane win.

As dead even as it gets. Bottom six energy forward has a place on the Sens.... Bottom pair defender has a place on the Kings. Swap of equivalent surpluses to address both teams needs while exposing each of these guys to better future opportunity.

Fairbrother’s AAV is lower, and his performance bonuses are lower than Brook’s. He just has a higher cap hit because Brook’s contract slid a year.

Was the first day they can sign unsigned prospects so that's why we saw many signings today. He's in Laval, so it probably made it easy to negotiate.

Guy looked solid in his AHL stint and over his three years in the WHL he looked to make giant steps from one year to another! Great pick and knowing the amount of rookies coming in the upcoming years you know that contracts will be cherry picked for players they really believe in.

Good signing, I wonder if they'll sign Jacob Leguerrier now...also I assume a Harvey-Pinard signing is in the near future!

Why help them ? They are in same division ! We have planty of late pick, don’t need another one. Lindgren isn’t a good goalie but he can win some NHL games

This is an atrocious signing for the sole fact that it is $708,000 instead of $708,334.
Also, I just found out that “Boo” comes from him being called “Bugaboo” as a child, which is absolutely hilarious.

Cap wise it's an interesting trade for the Habs but I don't think MB would give up Chiarot. He's really in for building a Saint-Louis/Tampa Bay style defense with big and strong defensemen. Chiarot his forming a great pair with Weber and there's no one that can take his place for the moment. We can't assume Romanov will be able to take top pair responsabilities right away and that would hurt his development.

Edmonton Oilers signed Ethan Bear (2 Years / $2,000,000 AAV)
Was pretty convinced the stalemate would result in a 1 year deal around 1 mil, and he would go on to make us pay him 4 mil plus starting next season. This sets the Oil up really well for the 2021-2022 (hopefully full length) season, and is still very workable this year without dumping anyone. Having him and Jones at 2.85 mil combined for the next two seasons, plus Bouchard and Broberg ready to each come in on ELC's and likely contribute at some point in the next two seasons is clutch for this cap world.

EOTP top 25 under 25 Habs players
I did my own rankings before these came out. The biggest differences are:
1. Michael McNiven (-10) - I don’t see him as having NHL potential, so I can’t put him ahead of any prospects with potential.
2. Joni Ikonen (+9) - He was hard to place. The injuries didn’t hurt his ranking too much last year, so I wasn’t sure where to put him. I definitely ended up having him too high.
3. Josh Brook (-7) - I’m lower on him than most other people.
4. Ryan Poehling (-7) - Same as Brook.
5. Luke Tuch (+6) - This is a bit of me ranking him higher because of his draft position, but also because I didn’t know if I should rank Hillis/Stapley much higher than last year.
6. Alexandre Alain (-5) - He’s an AHL middle six forward at best. I can’t put him ahead of any prospects.
7. Jan Myšák (+5) - This is just a result of me ranking a bit more for potential, and he also rose because Brook & Poehling are lower for me.

Danault retrouve Pacioretty
