Hockey trade
value wise it's a win for Vancouver but idk if Alvin would be willing to move Lekkerimaki... That being said, the possibility of getting another Quinn Hughes is too tempting to pass up

Doesn't matter what you want, Boston will likely do this as they've been eying him hard for years

Thats more because he's exempt from waivers but it was also for his benefit. Since he's come back to the NHL he's been solid and has forced himself into the lineup

they've been struggling significantly since the all star break, if you watched their games you'd understand. The PP is **** and EP40 has become a ghost, need some elite talent to jumpstart the offense.

How to Fix this Team Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Friendly_Cannon</b></div><div>But we give up the younger better player and get a late first in return? That doesn’t seem very fair. Also this disgruntled line is complete Bs and hopeful thinking of fans that want kj.
He’s entering his third season, let’s pump the brakes on this needs a change of scenery.
Plus your assessment of kj being worth half of zegras is misguided. Sure we probably would need to add but not much (maybe an early second)</div></div>
Zegras and KJ are very similar players and he's significantly further ahead in his career while only being 2 years older, maybe half is extreme but Zegras is worth at least a mid-late 1st rounder more than KJ

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>squashmaple</b></div><div>Now that is an interesting idea. I could see KJ being interesting to the Ducks as a wing for Carlsson. Columbus would add, but probably not much.
Doesn't matter, though. He won't be traded while he's rehabbing from shoulder surgery.</div></div>
Columbus would need to add a significant amount, KJ probably has half the value that Zegras does as while Zegras has struggled this year, that can be blamed on missing training camp, same thing happened to William Nylander a few years ago but Zegras is an established Top 6 NHL forward while at the moment Johnson is not.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>You're right. He's not a horrible player. But he is overpaid for what he is, and he has two years left on his deal. The extra year and the trade protection make him more difficult to "flip". Add to that the Hawks don't really need another middle 6 forward, and Mikheyev is pretty much a cap dump from the Hawks perspective. If Dickinson cost a 2nd to dump, Mikheyev takes at least that.</div></div>
Dickinson was significantly worse than Mikheyev was when VAN dealt him

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dk325</b></div><div>Please explain what makes KJ disgruntled and how a change of scenery is going to help him.</div></div>
Top 5 pick who has not been able to hold down a spot in the lineup, has had injury issues and burned his ELC bouncing between the NHL and AHL. A trade home could help him realize his potential as getting to play with a guy like EP40 could be amazing for him.

Podkozlin is close enough, both are disgruntled former Top 10 picks who could benefit from a change of scenery, Podz may not have the offensive upside but he's more physical and better defensively.

Getting a 1st for a guy who hasn't been able to stay healthy and hasn't lived up to expectations should be enough but also look at what I said, if they want more they can have Raty, Bains and a few mid picks if need be

He's not a horrible player so I don't think the price to dump him would be that high, definitely better than Beauvillier and CHI paid a 5th for him so I don't think their demands would be that high.

CanesCanucks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Necas, in this example, signs 8 years meaning the control argument is nonsense. It actually would favor the team having Necas. Caufield's not a better scorer if he can't stay in the lineup to score goals. Necas, ironically, has a better career high in goals. Necas is the better player, he's the more valuable player with an 8 year deal like this.</div></div>
Well there's no chance he signs for 8 years at $7M and idk if I'd be comfortable giving him more as he's been relatively inconsistent for most of his career and while I admit I'm not a Canes fan at all and don't watch their games, when I watch them play against my team Necas has never stood out to me.

CanesCanucks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>No, this is flawed at its base. Necas is the better player between him and Caufield, and while Caufield is younger, his setting career highs with 50 points. Necas is coming off a 70 point year. Montreal need to be the one adding here, not Carolina. If you drop Harris, Strubble, and the 1st, it's probably closer to a realistic deal for Carolina. As it, easy no.</div></div>
TBF Caufield is younger, has a higher ceiling, is a better goal-scorer and is locked up long term on a good contract whereas Necas has 1 year of team control left and is a prime candidate to get overpaid.

we need a strong left shot to fill Bo's vacant spot on the PP, he hasn't worked in LA bcuz their tactics don't match his play style, moving him to the wing in VAN can help him reach his full potential and at only $7M he could be a bargain

our offense has stagnated since the ASG (really the Lindholm trade), if stacking the 1st line starts making matchups worse for us and it becomes a problem then split them up but going in I think the Lotto line gives us the best chances of winning
