And there’s even less of a reason for the Devils to do this. And no there aren’t many wingers like Meier. True goal scoring power forwards are way harder to find than a #1D. I’m not diminishing Quinn or his value or whether you think the offer isn’t close, I’m just saying the Devils wouldn’t even think to consider a horrendous trade like this in the first place for a player they already have 2 of (Dougie and Luke)

Not really difficult at all. There’s nothing we really need in that package at all. I’d rather have Marinos low aav than 1 year if Brodie (who makes more), a wing prospect who won’t make the team, a very late 1st and a VV replacement that doesn’t even improve the position.. let alone we have to retain on VV and give up a 2nd. Devils easily decline.

1. The devils do not have the cap space to aquire Boeser without money coming out. A quick look at the teams hub in capfriendly can show you where teams are in relation to the cap, I suggest you use it next time so you can actually make a sensical proposal.

2. Boeser is not worth what you are asking for him. He is so not needed for the Devils, and especially without retention it isn’t even considered.

3. The Devils currently have Bratt, Toffoli and Mercer that all play top 6 RW, where exactly does Boeser even fit?

Please do a little research before you post next time, it’ll go a long way.

Prior to the 2022 a lot of devils fans were all in on Slafkovsky because we desperately needed a power forward with size and skill in our top 6. Now, that need is no longer than with the trade and extension of Timo Meier. I still like Slafs raw potential but I think Mercer fits the Devils system really well and is quite literally the teams Swiss Army knife. I don’t think the trade is bad in terms of value but rather I don’t think either side would feel comfortable making the trade.

Doubt they’d go for a higher end piece like Hellebuyck but i could definitely see them looking for some sort of backup #2 as more insurance entering the playoffs considering after Schmid it’s Kallgren and Daws. As for Tanev, I feel like Calgary is good enough to bounce back and make the playoffs and I think they may end up trying to resign Tanev. Not sure they get much out of the deal proposed here.

Devils and Rangers both say no because neither wants to risk losing the trade. I like Lindgren but as stated above we don’t have the money to pay him to be on the bottom pair. I think Kakko is a very solid nhl player but at this point he’s probably a 50 point guy, maybe has a career year at 70. The team loves Mercer, the fans love Mercer, the kid is just as much apart of the core as Meier or Bratt. He isn’t going anywhere.

A slow start is definitely very possible with so much roster turning however this team screams to me “most points in 2nd half of the year”
I can totally vie an acclimation period for the first couple of months but there’s not a doubt in my mind this team is going to score a lot of goals and win a lot of games
