Thread: Trade Roy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KINGS67</b></div><div>He’s an RFA there isn’t much negotiation going on. He wants to play on NHL roster and apparently wings don’t have room for him.
My thought is to hopefully get him on LA ship out Kaliyev and or grundstrom make room for the kid.
No I don’t think this actually happens but it’s a thought.</div></div>

Just because a player is an RFA it doesn't mean they don't negotiate. There are a coupe of players that holdout every season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WingsMJN2965</b></div><div>Nah, I absolutely buy that he's pissed. He fit in fine in the NHL last year but gets demoted to the AHL this year. He's almost 24 and stuck in the minors when he's clearly an NHL player. But, I don't think that means it can't be remedied by making room for him.</div></div>

The Berggren trade rumor was started by Pagnotta from the 4th period. Detroit called up Berggren in case Kane couldn't go but Kane was able to go and Berggren was sent back down and since his return to Grand Rapids he has 13 goals and 14 assists. in 22 games. Yzerman's plan for the last couple of seasons was to keep the majority of Detroit's young core to develop and find success as a unit and that's why he has chosen to fill the roster with UFAs the past couple seasons.

This makes sense to me but I could be wrong, because all we know for sure is Yzerman's plan for developing our prospects. Either way it gives a perfectly logical explication for the situation that doesn't involve people being mad at each other. Now we just have to wait and see!
