It'd be crazy if he didn't at least get 6M$
Which is effectively an average cap hit at this point</div></div>
The longer he goes unsinged the higher his cap hit for next year is getting (mid 5's maybe a 6) Especially if he continues this pace, leads them on a long playoff run that we all want and could even be in contention for a Vezina

Absolutely, figured as much, don't mind him just don't know if he fits the plans without moving out significant pieecs as you said.

Dube has been good and is only getting better at 3C, no point in bringing in a lesser, more expensive player to play that position, if you shift him to the wing then it just clogs up an already busy left side. Bottom 6 in Calgary is going to be filled out with a lot of rookies and league min next year if they plan on keeping their guys.

Sens With Tkachuk and Kravtsov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KMarner34</b></div><div>It just seems that in order for him to sign a long-term deal, he wants at least $8M. If not, he wants a bridge-deal and that's why the two sides are arguing.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AustonMatthews3443</b></div><div>Fair enough, I just do not understand how he thinks he's worth anything north of 7.</div></div>
Really don't think the term or AAV is what is blocking the deal but most likely signing bonuses as usual. Melnyk doesn't want to give any of that but star players want a good chunk of their salary in s.b. because of the financial gains it brings. Recent example : look at Barkov contract.
There's a big difference between a 8 x 8 contract and a 8 x 8 contract with 90% in signing bonuses (like Barkov). Just the interest you make every year by receiving your money right away... It's also "Lockout proof" money
All the rest is speculation and rumors. I'm 99% certain this is the case as it's been with past star players.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>Ottawa is too close to the floor to trade Holden and WSH is too close to the ceiling to take him.
Kempny and a 6th for Mete helps both teams, financially. Ottawa saves $200k in salary, and gets 1.3M further above the cap hit floor, allowing them flexibility to make other moves, like trading Holden somewhere for a pick. And by the deadline, if Kempny is playing well again, the Sens can keep him or trade him for another pick.</div></div>
I like these ideas. I'd rather keep Holden anyway (at least until the deadline), he's pretty solid if you don't overplay him. I'd like to keep Mete too.
The 2 D-men I want to see gone asap are Del Zotto (lol I know, never played a game for Ottawa) and Josh Brown

What it is Looking Like as of Now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KMarner34</b></div><div>Those were originally the lines I had, I just don't like the idea or putting Kerfoot in a complete shutdown roe when last year (in the playoffs) he proved that he could be put in a top 6 scoring role. I had him with JT, Mikheyev with Kampf and Bunting with Spezza. Bunting is just playing too good to not play him in the top 6 to start the year though</div></div>
In that position, he is not in a pure shutdown role. I have been advocating for Kerfoot to be played in an offensive role since the start of the season, so I'm right there with you. The reason I like the Kerfoot - Kampf - Kase line is because you have two defensively sound guys in Kampf and Kerfoot (Kampf obviously being the primary defensive guy on this line), and then two offensively capable guys in Kerfoot and Kase. Kase is also not half bad defensively although he's not quite the same as Kerfoot and Kampf, and the same can be said about Kampf in terms of offense. Kampf battles in the corners and does a damn fine job in the offensive zone. I think people overlook how good this line would be offensively because it would be stellar defensively. Great line at both ends of the ice

This team obviously sees Kampf as a relatively important piece, as evident by giving him an A on his sweater last game, and why shouldn't they? He's a great player who has been attached to Kase. I doubt Spezza starts anywhere other than the fourth line, meaning a more likely bottom six is:
Kerfoot - Kampf - Kase
Mikheyev - Spezza - Simmonds
I personally think that bottom six is better than what you have here anyways, as it is more defensively responsible and better offensively. Spezza won't be played in a role where he has to eat a ton of minutes and be matched against other lines to shut them down, but other than that this looks spot on

Kraken 2021-22 Deadline
I can see that for the Oilers if they're keeping up with Vegas and decide to go all in. If they look a half step behind they likely won't trade the first. This would also require Seattle to be well out of the playoff picture at the deadline.
