Honestly, if the Habs were stupid enough to take Slafkovsky with the 1st OVA and Wright was there for the taking at #2.
I'd <strong>still</strong> take Cooley with the 2nd OVA. He has the biggest upside out of anyone in this draft.

Yeah I’d take out Jones, don’t know what value he has. Maybe throw in Addison (or a different D prospect), 24 and maybe the 2nd for 2OA. That’s a lot of value.
But I agree with Xqb15a, I’d just take Cooley at 2.

It has been commented several times before already, but that Ottawa trade (or similar) works for both teams.
We'll have to wait and see!

I wouldn’t be opposed personally. Tbh. A lot of jackets fans want to hold onto texier, Understandably. I just want to capitalize on his value and if getting a youngish top 4 right shot defenseman is available. We should take it.

Maybe dumba. But we wouldn’t be interested in him for a first rounder. Maybe a package around texier? Idk how attractive that sounds.

might be able to get lundestrom or comtois out of it aswell but i think Jersey already has a ton of forward depth. maybe pastujov then for the future i guess

3 Team Trade - Read Description
I'd add in a prospect (Foote, Bahl, Okhoytuk, Boqvist, think that tier etc) or mid round pick from NJD to MIN if this were happening. Although I kind of hope this doesn't happen as I'm not a fan of Gibson's recent play.

Cool trade thought with Minnesota. But agree with one of the other posters. I think BG loves Middleton. I like the out of the box idea though

Dumba and Murphy seem to me the most likely options given their team situations (MIN cap, CHI rebuild). Heiskanen and Weegar are probably going nowhere. Severson sounds headed for extension in NJ.

Fiala Trade Targets
The only elements from Los Angeles that might be available are the first-round draft picks and Turcotte, Grans and perhaps Durzi. I think Anaheim would only offer the Boston first. Of course, these would be part(s) of a package for Fiala, assuming that an extension was in place.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kado777</b></div><div>Depending on the protections on the 2023 1st, I would probably be most interested in Gritsyuk and Zetterlund, I would probably go with
2023 1st and Zetterlund if its top 3 protected
2023 1st, 2023 3rd and Zetterlund if its top 7 protected
2023 1st, 2023 2nd and Zetterlund if its top 12 or top 14 protected
Not sure how you feel about these but just an idea</div></div>
Gritsyuk would be good one to target, but won't help much next year. And there is the risk of having a Russian, but MInnesota did well with Kaprizov, maybe that experience would help.
Zetterlund really grew last year. Figuratively and literally. He arrived to cap 25-30 lbs heavier and starting lighting up AHL.
All those packages seem reasonable to me if there is protection on 2023 1st.

As a Kings fan, A scorer on the top line is definitely a priority (Forsberg in FA), but I personally don’t think that is the top priority. As what the other guy said, Chychrun is the Kings #1 priority. We need a top 4 LHD and then slide Andersson to the 2nd pair. A dcore of:
Chychrun-Doughty(ik he isnt what he used to be)
Andersson- Durzi
That is a good up incoming dcore with also Clarke coming up and others.
Can you please link that podcast and I’ll tell you if she’s trusted with the Kings Org.

Or trade him at the deadline. Or extend him. We have options. You just want Fiala for cheap you’re ignoring that. We can trade other pieces and keep Fiala. Russo of the athletic has indicated he’s moving Fiala because he sees it as his best chance to get a really good asset back in return. If he moved Dumba, it wouldn’t be for a lot. That’s why we’re trading Fiala, not because “no cap space”.

Don’t know if that would beat Sens offer if they are truly offering a package around 7OA, but definitely in the ballpark. Turcotte has lost some steam over the years and projects as more of a L2 C right? That might be the only thing that gives BG some caution, but who knows, it’s a guessing game.</div></div>
2C or 3C is fair for Turcotte, I think the Kings are more interested in using these assets to get Chychrun. But Fiala would definitely be a backup plan.

Fiala Trade Targets
I don’t honestly see Dallas as a trade partner for Fiala. Minny would absolutely be asking for top prospects and Dallas shouldn’t be trading their top prospects. Minny also can’t really take salary back in the deal. I love me some Fiala, but any offer that would work for Dallas would likely be easily beat by another team. Something along the lines of Guri, 2022 first, and a non first round pick or prospect not named Johnston, Stankoven, or Bourque. I feel like somebody else would easily beat that

While Fiala is a good fit for the Isles there would need to be other moves to facilitate a trade. At a minimum the Isles would have to move Bailey in this trade, or find a 3rd team to take his salary or there is no way the Isles can afford Fiala.

This is just not true. Wild still have plenty of leverage, we do not have to trade Fiala. We can trade Dumba and clear the required cap space.
