Minnesota Wild Offseason

Sergachev gets less than MscAvoy. Dumba still cost 6M which is more than both Cirelli and Sergachev. People can send offer sheets all they want, that doesn't mean anything unless a player signs it. Good luck with your "screw over Tampa" plan I bet every other GM is just dying to decline their offers so you can snag their RFA's</div></div>
There are teams that would offer up 8M for Cirelli long term, if he’s on a bridge deal like point is then yes he would be offered 5M. Point is making more than Mackinnon, does that make Point the better player? No it doesn’t. The amount a player makes means nothing, it depends on the type of person theyare and if they are willing to take a pay cut. Cirelli is criminally underrated and he’s insane defensively, 5M is a steal for him. Sergachev is going to get offered anywhere from 4-6M depending on term, that’s still at the very least 70% of their cap space. They can’t resign both, they’re better off getting the most value by trading one of them.

I’ve heard Washington is letting go of Holtby and if that’s the case they are in need of a backup. Who’s the 3rd goalie you were thinking of?

Minnesota Wild Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Ok first of all Cirelli will 100% cost less to resign than Dumba's 6M. So your entire premise is flawed right off the start. As for RD Sergachev can play both sides, Cernak is there, Bogo and Schenn will be cheap resigns, and Foote is ready to make the jump.</div></div>
Tampa has 5.5 mil in cap space, depending on the term Cirelli is going to cost at least 5 and then they have to resign Sergachev who isn’t going to be cheap either. Their need right now is defense and they get a good defender in Dumba. If they don’t trade one of Sergachev or Cirreli most likely a team is going to send an offer sheet to one of them and my guess is a team like Minnesota or Montreal (who are decent teams) would be the teams interested and if that’s the case Tampa is looking at a late first and a 3rd (depending on the salary in the offer). If they opt to not trade either them they are doing nothing to improve their team and are losing out on a lot of value.

Ottawa isn’t going to be contending for 3-4 years when his contract is almost up and they aren’t going to have any cap problems over that span either. He was traded there so he could be given a bigger role which would hopefully help him bounce back to his NYR form, even if he doesn’t bounce back he would still be a good middle 6 forward for Ottawa.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Lol why would Tampa do that? Also what's your plan for expansion?</div></div>
Tampa is in need of a RHD and as of now can’t afford to resign Cirelli and Sergachev and I would assume Tampa would want a solid player and decent prospect rather than having a few picks from an offer sheet.
Realistically Tampa would get more out of Minnesota but In my opinion this trade works out well for both sides.
Protect 7 skaters, 3 defensemen and a goalie.
Suter, Spurgeon, Brodin, Cirelli, Fiala, Parise, Ek, Kunin, Sturm, Foligno, Kahkonen.

Dumba to Winnipeg
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>I don't see the Jets overpaying that drastically.</div></div>
It is an overpayment but in my opinion teams with holes in their defense like Winnipeg, Vancouver and Montreal are going to overvalue Dumba and therefore overpay for him.

Yes, Dumba is now expendable because of the Brodin signing and the wild are in desperate need of a 1C
