What the Habs could have looked like with better drafting BOREDOM POST
Definitely wouldn't have been drafting Slafkovsky 1st this year if these had been their original picks haha

starting lineup
This is the lineup I would want, if that 3rd line worked out that would be awesome! But... theres a lot of things that need to happen for it to work, mostly including Kaut finding his way in the league, which I think he can. Also, Newhook plays his best with talent around him and I dont think Meyers or Kaut will prove his true potential but nonetheless its only opening night lines and its worth a look or two

DNVR - Slap My Avs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Benzino204</b></div><div>The only way the Jets trade Ehlers to the Avs is if MacKinnon is involved, and I doubt Avs fans would say yes to that.
He's one of the Jets untouchables.</div></div>
So................................ Jets wouldn't take makar for Ehlers? Rantanen for Ehlers? Landeskog for Ehlers? Newhook, byram, Barron, and a 1st for Ehlers because MacKinnon isn't involved? Good to know 👍

One more crack at making this team almost unbeatable
I would accept a jost for jarnkrok trade; after that I wouldn't be willing to part with jt for the fact that I wouldn't want to trade both him and jost; if somehow they could use picks and a prospect (Behrens or helleson) for braun( with salary retention) that would be awesome

Kraken Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>UpsideDownQue</b></div><div>I like the player but the price of a 2nd + prospect is too much. Id do a 3rd for him - teams arent allowed to make conditions based on players re-signing anymore anyway</div></div>
In that case I agree a 2nd plus bowers (who btw will never get a chance to play in Colorado anyways) is too much but the more I think about it like the jost for jarnkrok straight up deal. Jost has this and next year on his contract but he'll just never be the player we need and for a cup run this year I'd love to have jarnkrok over him

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>UpsideDownQue</b></div><div>Seems like a lot for Jarnkrok. Sakic can probably find a similar quality player for quite a bit cheaper. Thats what hes done in the Namestnikov/Brassard/Wilson deals</div></div>
I like the jarnkrok pickup actually but I'd make it a conditional 2nd; 3rd in 2023 if he doesn't resign or maybe just trade jost for jarnkrok straight up... ?

Kane to avs
They'd have to to pry away a future hall of famer who is still a game changer, don't think I'd really want this to happen but I can't deny how cool it would be to see kane in an avs jersey. Also, it would be hard for them to want to retain 1/2 his salary for all of next year when they're up against the cap already.

Giroux to avs
So you have the avs trading away a 2nd liner in burakovsky, a great prospect in Barron, a good prospect in helleson, a 1st next year (making it 2 years in a row without one) for giroux who has one more point than burakovsky. The avs would be looking to add depth to their team not exchange players and lose future talent and assets. And no, brian zanetti wouldn't be enough to make the avs want to make this trade.

Thread:
Chychrun to avs
Well I wouldn't say not even close; obviously they would recieve better offers from other teams and quite frankly the avs really don't need a player like chychrun on their back-end for a cup run. The coyotes, however, are in a total rebuild and putting a player with his potential on the block- especially his age- says a lot about how bad of shape they are in. A player like Justin Barron would be a great prospect (already 2 nhl games played); another 1st round and it being next years draft would be more beneficial for the coyotes than this year where they have lots. Compher is a serviceable player for them and 2 years left on his contract. Maybe they could add another prospect, but honestly if they had to then chychrun really isn't worth it. He had a great year last year but I don't think he's worth all the hype and I don't think he can't be replaced by some of the avs defensive prospects down the road, which is where you would see that the avs would lose this trade if they had to give up more (even though their time to win is now). They can do without chychrun if the price is that high.
