Bob Murray Burner Account
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ducksfan93</b></div><div>what would be the point in that trade. Give up the youth in goal for a guy pushing 40? and giving up a potential star center. Makes no sense. And the team is completely decimated down the middle with that trade... I get it, you get ekblad, but I think Lindholm is almost equal. He doesnt get any love due to being on the West Coast.</div></div>
Bud, the Ducks should be in rebuild mode. The reason why Luongo is coming back is because of needing a goalie that is still decent and taking salary back, Barkov is probbaly the most underrated center in the league. Steel is exactly that, a potential star. Ekblad is better than Lindy. Gibby is going to be wasted and the ducks won't be able to afford his next contract.

Sam Steel isn't playing the NHL this year. Also, Eaves is on the IR and won't be coming back this year. My guess is you're a Vancouver fan... This is a mess. Trades are off big time too.

Second year Montreal Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>We_Want_The_Cup</b></div><div>There's a starting point for this deal, but you're a little off in value.
<strong>Counter-offer</strong>
MTL Gives:
Max Pacioretty [35-goal scorer, cheap contract]
Alex Galchenyuk [shaky 20-30-goal scorer, untapped elite skill]
Andrew Shaw [similar to Gallagher, but lower trade value]
ANA Gives:
Sami Vatanen [top 4, 4.875M cap dump]
Andrew Cogliano [end of career, shaky 15-goal scorer, 3M cap dump]
Jacob Larsson [late first rounder, but production lacking during development]
Nick Ritchie [promising first rounder, 15-goal season]
1st round pick
Only problem is that Vatanen is a right defense and we're stacked there, but it's okay, we'll figure something out. Deal?</div></div>
Countering you with proposal.

Interesting Off Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jded</b></div><div>This is interesting alright, but I have a few problems with it:
1. When Lindholm comes back they are over the cap.
2. You signed a bunch of contracts extending beyond this year, and we have 3 star defensemen (and 3 young Fwds) in the last year of their contracts with only Bieksa and Vermette coming off the books to cover all that. The Ducks would be under water for at minimum the next 2 years.
3. The deal favors anaheim too much. The way I see it:
Vats for Pacioretty - slightly favors ANA
Ritchie and 1st for Gallagher - slightly favors ANA
Jones and cogliano for Galchenyuk - slightly favors ANA
Individually not bad, but in aggregate it feels lopsided, and gives up a lot of Anaheim's youth, prospects, and cheap ELCs.
I just don't think Anaheim needs anything so radical right now. They have a good team, really just need 1 more top 6 fwd and they'll look pretty dangerous.</div></div>
I see what you are saying and I agree. Let me make a next year team and see what happens.

umm..... what the hell is that Anaheim Trade? That wouldn't work for the ducks. They are wanting a top 6 forward in return. Also per reports is that there is already a trade in place for a top6 forward

Next Season Flat Cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NateElder12</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>awatt</b></div><div>I would love to have Thompson back with us. Also, we need to trade a d-man and get some help up front.
Everyone will be better next year: Montour, Manson, Theodore, Kase, Ritchie, Rakell, Silfverberg.
Buying out Stoner isn't a solution, he can help us on the back end if healthy. Dump Despres and trade Vatanen and get in a top 6 forward who can score and this team might be first in the pacific again.</div></div>
See I disagree on some of this. The Ducks don't need to trade anyone right now. Thompson isn't bringing anything to the lineup that isn't depicted above. Steel can score and Kapanen can kill penalties/play defense. Stoner buyout was necessary to be under the cap when Lindholm/Vatanen come back. Nobody is going to take Despres unless you give up something significant. I get what you are saying and appreciate the input but I don't think they need to panic as much as people think right now. The core is shifting and is pretty young. Guys like Silfverberg, Rakell, Steel, Montour, Lindholm, Manson, Vatanen, etc. will be able to take over for the older guys soon enough and at that point maybe move one of them for forward help when the exact need is more known.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kiekenapp</b></div><div>Nate, you're pretty smart when it comes to hockey knowledge, but from what i have been reading and watching via interviews is that Mcphee says that he won't attack the Ducks much. I'm thinking he takes Kerdiles, and or Eaves. We may have to give them a little bit of compensation but i honestly feel that is overkill. I'm thinking Mcphee is being nice to us since they are close to us, and wants to build a good relationship with Bob Murray in the future.</div></div>
Interesting. I didn't know Vegas and Murray had talked - at least I haven't seen it yet. I understand I overpaid, but mainly because I figured the Ducks would have to in order to keep the whole team together. I don't think trading a hurt defenseman for forward help is the right thing to do RIGHT NOW. Maybe after the first month or so once they see how some of the internal talent is doing they could go that route and maybe even get more if they move a player closer to coming back form injury. Thanks for the input.</div></div>
That is where i disagree with you. I think regardless of the expansion draft i think the ducks are trading Vatanen in the next year or 2 years because of the pay raises Manson, Montour, and Theodore will command. Also with Fowler getting an extension and with Bieksa 4 MIL cap hit and Stoner cap hit will fall off. I still think moving Vatanen will help the team get a top6 forward that is direly needed.
