Very true, I just struggled to find salary to send back to Buffalo to make the deal work. Maybe Geekie and no 3rd would work for Buffalo.

Yeah I think he should get less but I went with what I thought a bridge deal for a player like Dahlin with the potential he has can get.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>Columbus declines pretty easily imo. They don’t really have a need for another wing. They need a top 6 center more than a Hall especially if we are moving a 1st for a rental.</div></div>

I get that but I think Columbus as a team can be better if they were to acquire another great scorer like Hall, I think Roslovic (even tho he sucks at Faceoffs) and Texier are decent centres and they can address the issue in the summer. Plus with the money they have to work with they can resign Hall at a decent cap hit.

Ok so a 2021 1st? Cuz I don't think Buffalo would trade him for 1 of those. Despite his struggles his name value holds a lot of weight. And who knows maybe Hall likes playing there and takes a little less to stay.

Yeah I agree on the rookies being good, but adding Granlund for more scoring depth would be good.

Well the Nashville trade was to bring in two seasons of Ekholm to improve the teams D in front of Binnington, and after the deal he walks. Binnington gets that deal because he brought St.Louis their 1st cup, and two I think he can definitely get a Markstrom contract. Perron could definitely get that contract, he's been a great top 6 option since he was in Vegas and these past 3 years in St.Louis. I think he could get a bigger contract, but he'll stick around in St.Louis cuz thats where he's been best. Parayko I had trouble gauging because before this season he looked like he was on pace to be a great number 1 defensive d-man, but he's been less stellar this year. 7.5mil does seem high to me too though, maybe he signs the same deal that Faulk did.

Tryna keep the contending window open
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheEarthmaster</b></div><div>Wait why does it make sense for the Blues? Krug-Scandella-Dunn is a perfectly fine left side and we have quite a few prospects there too, why would be trade a bunch of high picks to a (usually) division rival when we have *checks notes* five of of our top nine forwards injured, not to mention Ekholm will be due a raise and Scandella won't be by the end of his deal and that's not going to help keep our window open. What helps keep the window open is having picks to draft players on ELCs so that when other guys price themselves out you have replacements.</div></div>
Very true, I guess St.Louis is pretty dinged up rn, I didn't take that into consideration cuz I was more focused on next year, but yeah I guess instead of getting Ekholm they should use the draft capital to replenish forward depth. You could probably trade the Bozak contract and picks to get a solid top 9 forward. When it came to Dunn I just remembered their being issues with him and management it seems and I don't think they wanna pay him what he's worth (or at least what he thinks he's worth). Buffalo will have a lot of cap next year and very little d-men signed so Dunn will be a welcome for them. Ik Ekholm needs a big deal after but I think St.Louis will probably be able to bring in another top 4 at that time like a veteran who can compliment Faulk, Krug, and Parayko. Guys available that Summer of 2022 will be Giordano, Leddy, Murphy, Lindholm, Risto and Chiarot. Ekholm is a guy who rn when the team is healthy (especially in 2022) can help push this core to another cup ring before they start to regress. Thats just my thoughts on this.

I'm certain NSH can find a more appealing deal than this one -- Preds pass.</div></div>
True, I guess it makes more sense from a STL perspective, I just wasn't 100% sure what the value of Ekholm is and I wanted to gauge that. Also forgot about the devaluing that 2021 picks do have. Thanks for the insight
