Might as well throw this years 7th in as well...that way Dubas and co can just skip the draft, and save on these outrageously high gas prices.

Holy crap, and we can officially start the Goodrow buyout countdown in 3 ..2...
a good 4th liner, average 3rd playing with very good 3rd liners in Tampa. His career HIGH is 8 goals...and 6 years? this deal is going to suck very quickly.

Dubas will def. look to add a top 4 D, or at least extend Muzzin. They'll def need to move a Forward or two. The money will have to come from Kap, Kerfoot, or Johnsson. No other way to bolster their D.

The difference is due to mid season signing that saw a 10mil cap hit the first season of the deal. Your right though it does not change your argument much. I am not arguing he is not worth it. Just pointing out that he is actually paid slightly more than a lot of the ones you have listed above.</div></div>
Doesn't matter at all. Cap hit is everything in the cap world. If anything it makes him even more valuable

Leafs be Selling

Ceci 7 yrs 473 gp. 125 pts. -54
How are Subban and Ceci close?</div></div>
You're right it isn't close at all. Subban 2 goals 3 assist, 5 points, minus 15. this season. Ceci 1 goal, 6 assist, 7 points plus 6. UFA Ceci makes a slight overpay at 4.5 this season but the Leafs have 4.5m next season to sign Dman. Subban even with your retention makes 6.5m this year and for the following two seasons. It's 2019...almost 2020. Subban is terrible value at now and in future and you want to give a first and second rounder and the superior Ceci to acquire this version of Subban.
Want to talk about the Barrie. He does get some PP time but is just 3 goals and 10 assists, for 13 points and is a minus 12. Sorry it's really mindless of folks to think Ceci is the problem on defence for the Leafs.

If the Leafs put Timashov on waivers, he's gone almost instantly. I agree with both of you that he's been excellent in the ice time he's been given.

My impressions of Timashov as a Marlie. More of a permitter player, smart enough and quick enough for the AHL as third line winger. But in the NHL so far, against faster, stronger, smarter players he has adjusted. It's like he has adjusted jut over the summer and doesn't mind playing without much time and space. His quickness has made him an effective forechecker. We'll see if he can keep it up.
Plus I'm sorta pulling for the guy. Leaving home so young to seek his hockey dream in North America.

Had been saying it since before preseason, Timashov deserved to be on the team.
He has played solid.
I wanna keep Shore over Speeza right now too.
Not sure I wanto pair Rielly and Dermott together, I want Dermott to take over as 2nd pair LD next year and give a RD to Rielly, who that RD will be is mystery but I have some ideas I have floated out at times.

Bringing a few different ideas together
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sunnyh</b></div><div>Colin Miller: decent, but is he top pair material, especially in a market like Toronto where mistakes are magnified
Dermott: Prone to defensive zone lapses on his strong side, likely won't address that effectively on his off hand side
Benning: LOL its Matt Benning - he is what he is
A minor bump from last year's defense.</div></div>
dermott has played a bunch of time on his off side and is ready for a top 4 role. he had a bad playoff series because he was injured and hasnt had much of a chance. a top 4 of rielly, muzzin, miller and dermott is pretty good. if the 3rd pair of rosen and benning are able to play 13-16 minutes a game then they should be more then fine
