2 SHG against and 0/10 in 2 games against Montreal. Weird, considering last year’s powerplay was top-5 all time.

I guess if it gets really bad, but as of right now the NHL is fine with rescheduling. However, if a team has a secondary outbreak after the first one blows over, the NHL would definitely have to look into some things.

What are you talking about? Geoff Moulson doesn’t care about a few thousand dollars. They’re being sent down so we accrue more cap space, that way we have more room for additions at the deadline and making sure we don’t have any performance bonus overages. If Moulson was really that cheap, we wouldn’t be spending to the cap.

Trade Deadline if We Dont Bounce Back
I think that if we have a significant injury at forward the habs do it. If we don’t, then our forward depth is good enough as is, especially with Perry as the 13th forward.

That’d be more trouble than it’s worth because of broadcast obligations and divisional opponents complaining. The NHL gave themselves some buffer room at the end of the season for a reason.

Yes, and some of us (myself included) didn’t know enough about Anderson/CBJ. The reason it’s so lopsided is likely because people didn’t know Anderson well enough, rather than Domi.

They had Byram & Timmins on the taxi squad. I’d say the $8 million in deadline cap space, plus opening up a spot for the youngsters is worth it.

Ryan O’Reilly was really good, and I know Danault couldn’t touch him offensively. However they are similar on the defensive side.

See my response to <a href="/users/leafs101" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@leafs101</a>.
Also, I think you’re forgetting Jeff Petry. Petry/Weber isn’t much different from Pietrangelo/Parayko. Again, I’m not saying we’re anywhere as good as St. Louis, I’m just drawing comparisons showing that teams built like this can win in the playoffs.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>leafs101</b></div><div>O'Reilly, Tarasenko, and Pietrangelo
EDIT: you said forward. O'Reilly and Tarasenko</div></div>
I think our definition of superstar is different. Tarasenko is a 70-75 point player, which if all goes well, Suzuki might be, in addition to being great defensively. He isn’t a top 50 forward in the league like <a href="/users/TheFlamingC" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@TheFlamingC</a> is talking about. O’Reilly is a great forward, and probably a top 50 forward in the league, but he doesn’t have gamebreaking skill that few other players have, so his sort of responsibilities can be filled by other players. (Ie. defensively Danault is a match)
And I’m not saying that the habs are going to win anything, but the Blues showed that it’s possible to win without the McDavids, MacKinnons, and even Matthewses of the world.

And Suzuki will be on the taxi squad on Thursday. We’re banking cap space. What’s your point?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheFlamingC</b></div><div>I’m talking superstar top 50 forward. Suzuki could be there at years end. I don’t think Gallagher has the offensive punch tho</div></div>
We may not have a superstar forward, but the Tatar - Danault - Gallagher line has been one of the best in the NHL in the past few years. And early results from the Drouin - Suzuki - Anderson line have been promising, and Suzuki has room to grow. We may not have a single player that can take over a game (other than Price), but if at least one of our lines is rolling, we’ll have a good shot at winning every night. And St. Louis didn’t have a superstar difference maker, but they still won the Stanley Cup. (Not that I think Montreal would make it that far, but just showing that a team with this sort of make up can do well.)

Hey. Barkov is one of my favourite players, and a top 5 centre in the NHL, but these descriptions of Danault & KK are a little insulting.

Ideal Lines
The PK lines were:
Danault - Lehkonen
Evans - Byron
Suzuki - Armia
Toffoli
Chiarot - Weber
Edmundson - Petry
Romanov
And I definitely agree with moving Armia to the 4th and Toffoli back to RW.

Alexander Romanov 1st NHL goal! Awesome, and he certainly didn’t need to wait as long as we did for our 3 previous rookie D in Fleury, Mete, and Juulsen. Lehky with a great shot, showing that great release that we don’t see enough anymore.
Really solid game for Allen. It appears we finally have a good backup for the first time since Jaroslav Halák was traded.
The PK was great, however the fact that they needed to be was disconcerting. The Armia penalty was a typical lazy Armia penalty, which isn’t great. I won’t fault Romanov & Weber on the cross-checks though, since it seems like there’s a bit of a changing in the standards there. The other ones weren’t terrible, but the amount was what was dangerous.
Anderson’s absence scared me for a bit, but it’s good to see he’s ok. Also, Edmundson showed that he can definitely play on the right side if need be.
Also, Schiiler jinxed Carter Hutton’s shutout, which was funny.
Overall loving the habs game right now. (Other than the penalties.) Hopefully we can keep it rolling against a struggling Canucks team on Wednesday.
