Oh, you’re right - I forgot that things like context, age, and contracts are irrelevant. All that matters is that the vet on a basement team plays more than the rookie on a playoff team.

I don’t know why you Hab players think you’re getting anything but picks lol
I’ve seen Monahan for Kakko, Cuylle, Perreault, etc. and it ain’t happening

I think MTL might ask NYR for a first round or a second round pick.

Think about the rebuild potential. This team would never win a game, but would be way more entertaining than the current Sharks team. Lose 2-10 but throw 100 hits a game.

I didn’t make these lines. It’s just the auto generated lines when you create the teams. I was just giving the update of the Bonino lol

try something when Chytil comes back
Would you be concerned that the bottom 6, while not bad defensively, would be pretty bad in terms of offensive production and just rely on a very strong top 6 to carry that weight? Wondering if NY tries to add a middle 6 winger so you can drop Chytil/VT to the 3C and have some offense there as well.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kravtsov_Stan</b></div><div>I like the Chychrun trade but I doubt Chytil will be back by playoff time and Rangers need to pickup a center</div></div>
im 50/50. obv this scenario would be IF he does return. otherwise, i think they acquire a middle 6 forward or might prioritize someone like tarasenko over a dman. if he is 100% out for the year, i believe they bring in (like you said) a middle 6 offensive forward who isn't a defense liability. with that being said, i really think they move on from one of schneider, lindy, miller and/or jones between the deadline and offseason. i could see a solidify defensive defenseman that can produce on offense as well. i know that is the "ideal dman" but someone who can keep up with fox, but still play some heavy defense who puts up around 35 points a season

Chicago Blackhawks signed Nick Foligno (2 Years / $4,500,000 AAV)
Well, it’s a really bad contract, but for Chicago, a good contract. Veteran stays in Chicago, for the young talent, he gets paid, and it helps with Chicago’s cap for the next few years (getting them to cap floor). Win win for everyone.

Obviously its a terrible contract, but that's the point. He's a veteran leader for the next 2 seasons on a crap team

Thread:
Toronto Maple Leafs signed William Nylander (8 Years / $11,500,000 AAV)
First of all, Nylander is worth 11 mil. I've been saying this for a long time now. If you don't think so - you're simply wrong
Second, he signed at a similar cap% as comparable wingers at the time like Benn, Stone, and Perry. Don't let the raw number fool you this isnt out of the blue.
Third and most importantly, Trev completely ****ed this negotiation up. If they were scared Nylander might walk - the time to "cave in" was in the summer. As it stands Nylander is at peak value and there is no reason to cave now 30 some odd games after refusing to go above 9mil. They should have waited out the year and let Reinhart get a comparable deal or let Willie cool off. Even if he didn't they could always just pay him this in June no problem. No one in the league can match 92 million dollars!
There was no risk!
What a horrible GM Trev has turned out to be. Worst fears confirmed about him
Fourth, I am very exited to have Willie be a life long leaf. Amazing player who has the perfect mentality for the market. Ideal Leaf and for that reason its still a good deal even with Trev being a panicky idiot.
I expect CF to vote it down. They also voted down both Matthews deals so that should tell you how little you should value that
Of course there are the usual worries about deals like this aging but I don't see any reason to suggest the risk is any more than any other comparable star so whatever. Would have liked us to get this down to 5 or 6 years given the aav, but I'll live with it.
<img class="for_img" src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GDVC7IAWgAI_jSc?format=jpg&name=small" alt="GDVC7IAWgAI_jSc?format=jpg&name=small">
I figure he will drop down to somewhere around a point per game to a 100 point pace for the next few years, and that's fine for what he will cost

Stock up Stock Down WJC
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kravtsov_Stan</b></div><div>I didnt get to watch much of Sykora, what was disappointing about his performance?</div></div>
he just never really stood out to me like i thought he was going to. After watching a lot of him in Hartford I expected him to kinda dominate when on the ice but in the WJC he never even looked like the best player. He wasnt bad necessarily but he definitely did not look like someone who could take that next step
More specifically he wasnt very sharp with the puck and his skating struggled a lot. He seemed like he was always out of place and once he had opportunities he didnt make the most of them. Im not too worried overall though I think it was just a rough few games adjusting to a new linemates

I will say though dont get your hopes up i dont think its a guarantee Senko gwts you a first, definitely a possibility, not a guarantee</div></div>
You're absolutely right that it's not a guarantee.
We didn't even get a 1st for Mark Stone.
There's definitely a possibility we only get an AHL scrub + a 3rd for Tarasenko.
But his trade history says otherwise.
We'll see what happens.

LAK is already in cap trouble and will be in even more when Arvidsson is back from LTIR. Based on that I view them being takers on Tarasenko as minimal.
NYR needs top 6 winger but I suspect Drury to not to go for familiarity, but we will see.
