(ANA/BUF) - 2025 4th (MIN) for Lyubushkin
Like this deal Buffalo gets ride of some cap and a defenseman which they lots of and Anaheim improves their defence for this year until they flip him at the deadline for a better pick then the 4th
Also R.I.P RJ we all loved you so so much and will be forever missed

Images removed for simply for space.
You're just providing stats to what I'm saying. 82% Dzone starts is going to lead to poor metrics. A/60 and G/60...hard to score when you always have to start in your own end. None of that gets reflected in your stats. I could play devils advocate and say "Did you catch where Kampf also have to play the shutdown role with lesser teammates than Suter was provided?", BUT truth is... that stat doesn't really matter either. They played the shutdown role. The whole line did. That was their focus/goal.

No he's not. Kampf has a role. 82% Dzone starts. PK leader. Good at the dot. Suter's trying to find his place and it hasn't gone as well as he'd like. He's NOT bad and still a good signing, but he's not better than Kampf.

(TOR/FLA) - Marchment for Malgin
I just stumbled upon this trade, of which I had no recollection from when it happened leading up to the 2020 deadline. I guess that’s a testament to how insignificant it seemed at the time. Of course it looks crazy now, but I suspected it looked like a clear Toronto win at the time, as the comments in this forum confirm.
I’m not going to speculate on whether they should have known better – hindsight is 20/20 – but what strikes me is the number of other teams’ castoffs Florida has taken and turned into solid NHL players – not just depth players, but guys who can play on the top two lines. Others include Anthony Duclair, Carter Verhaeghe, Gustav Forsling, Chris Driedger and Sam Bennett, and to a lesser extent, Eetu Luostarinen and Ryan Lomberg. I think they owe a lot of their success to that, because these guys tend to be on team-friendly contracts, at least at first. How do they do it?

(TOR/FLA) - Marchment for Malgin
Sometimes weird things happen. At the time, Malgin was still an interesting young player, and Marchment didn't look like he'd ever reach the NHL. Alas, I was wrong, and trades can be weird. Another great example of this is Bigras for Graves...

(CAR/PHI) - Rizzo, 2025 5th (CAR) for Kase
This is Don Waddell doing the Flyers a favor imo. Adds context to why Flyers bought out DeAngelo instead of trading him for rizzo like originally thought.
Instead Carolina got him at a cheaper AAV. If I had to guess this was agreed upon when that happened.

(CAR/PHI) - Rizzo, 2025 5th (CAR) for Kase
This is a really pointless trade for the Canes and Don Waddel, and Briere got a really good prospect out of this. Rizzo in Denver has just kept getting better and more has become a dominant presence in the NCAA. I can see a world where Rizzo never works out at the NHL level, but I see another really high chance of him becoming a solid middle-six forward playmaker. For me I see this is a compensation for TDA, and is a really pointless trade......gotta hope Kase makes the roster I guess????, fleece by Philly.

nah, He played pretty well, after the first game against Carolina he went 6-0. He was also playing a ton of hockey between NHL and AHL and his play started to slip. Is it maybe a tad much? possibly but it starts in a year and he's likely gonna get a lot more starts in the NHL this year. So it's too early to say that.

I feel like the AAV is a bit much. I know it's only starting a year from now, but twice the league minimum for a goalie with only 12 NHL games doesnt sound so right

Good enough. More than the Bs probably want to pay but if he can do any of: 1) move back to C and succeed 2) put up 20 goals consistently 3) expand his playstyle and be more of a netfront guy, he'll be worth it. We need these young guys to make and stay in the lineup.

Could have been a good candidate to go long-term with low AAV deal (like Whitecloud). Fairly high floor #5/6 dman. $1.05m x 2 years is good deal.
