The same draft class Connor McMichael so he is probably the biggest bust in NHL history by your standard.
Nice try captain troll</div></div>
The likelihood that the Capitals trade Wilson alone for Caufield is about as good as the Habs making the Playoffs this season.

Washington obviously doesn’t touch that. Strome would not have gotten the same opportunity in TOR and Timmins was always exactly what he is.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joblow</b></div><div>Yeah you heard it right, Wilson is a 30 years old grinder who’s best year are behind. Wilson have had a great career but no gm would keep him if they where proposed a 23 years old sniper. Wilson might have 2-3 years left. Then he will on the decline and he might very well be declining extremely fast considering the style he played throughout is career. There absolutely no argument to be made about that. This is just silly. If both where 23 then the case would be totally different but with the current situation there no debate.</div></div>
Caufield just had his best season as a Pro with 56 PTs THIS SEASON. He’s basically a bust. The Caps probably wouldn’t trade Suzdalev for him.

Why, exactly, would Wsh do that trade? Robertson looks like a dime a dozen bust. No need for the Capitals to also add the better pick. Wsh is better off just not doing this trade or trading TVR elsewhere for better.

Yeah WSH doesn’t touch that. A team that just picked in the Lottery isn’t trading a 1st just to dump a single season of a player that isn’t even grossly overpaid.

What say you Caps fans Better player more cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RecycleShark</b></div><div>The 1st isn't just to move Mantha. It's to move Mantha AND acquire Barabanov, who's a really good player on a bargain contract. He could help the Caps make another run while you still have Ovechkin.
Understood about lottery protection on the 1st.</div></div>
Mantha has one season remaining. The Caps aren’t going to pay to move him. The Caps also wouldn’t pay any 1st for Barabanov. Barabanov is an UFA, the Caps can just sign him in the off-season and pay nothing if they’re so inclined.
Also it’s highly unlikely the Caps are going to pay for Cap Space this season, they’re not going to be competitive.

McMichael regressed? That’s a patently stupid take. McMichael was one of the most important Capitals draft picks playing for a Hershey Bears team that won the Calder Cup.
You could at least have some idea what you’re talking about or know anything about the other team. I guess then your proposed trade wouldn’t be so terrible.

Garland gone
Caps don’t touch that. Kuznetsov is the much better player at the much more important position. Kuznetsov’s worst season is far better than Garland’s best and Kuznetsov doesn’t make nearly enough against the Salary Cap to justify trading him for a worse player at a position WSH doesn’t need while someone needs to play the offensive 1B/2A Center role while the Caps set Ovi up to chase the Goals record. WSH won’t be doing this.

Trotz helps out WSH retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>penguinswin</b></div><div>- 1st of all, it's a retool; not rebuild. BIG difderence. And they want out of these 2 contracts; this gives them that. And Glass will likely be a 2C, and McCarron a 4th liner.</div></div>Cody Glass had 35PTs last year. He’s not a 2C today and it’s not very likely he ever will be. The Caps do not want out of Mantha and Kuznetsov’s contracts badly enough to lose a trade this horribly. Kuznetsov is at worst a 2C on basically every team in the NHL. Fehervary is a Top 4D, that is not debatable. The Caps are not going to pray that Glass ever becomes worth something and pay two 2nd while giving up two players who will play in their Top 4 and Top 6 for this package. It’s an easy NO.
Let’s just restructure since you refuse to get the point. Barrie and Mantha are a WASH. Same money and neither is desired by the team that is acquiring them in this trade. Kuznetsov is clearly a vastly superior player to Glass today. Fehervary is clearly superior to McCarron, there’s no argument to be made. So that leaves the Capitals adding a 3rd and two 2nds for a 4th. No matter how you split it, this is terrible for Washington and there’s no chance they consider it.
