First of all, there are no favors here lol. Its not like this is for nothing, you're moving up in the draft. Why wouldn't you do this?

You got from 18 mil in free cap to 16. There is nothing to lose. I get you don't like being the go-to team for stuff like this but there is no reason not to do this. Plus it'll help out other GMs who could return the favor in the future.

I get being upset over taking on higher deals with term, but a 1 year deal with less than 2 mil caphit in AHL is nothing.

32 Thoughts Podcast a few days ago stated the Senators had preliminary discussions lol. I don't think its happening, its quite likely, but its not impossible.

If he isn't getting moved, which I do not think he is, then it doesn't matter. But if he is getting moved, he isn't getting back Dobson or Faber unless the Senators add, because neither the Islanders or Wild would ever trade those two. RHD who are young and elite don't get moved, like ever. Its much easier to trade for an elite winger than elite RHD


You can say he isn't getting moved, which is fine. But don't pretend like any of these would ever happen. Just like the Senators wouldn't move Sanderson or Greig as prospects unless it was for insanely good players, these teams would never either. Thakchuk is good, not a superstar

No team is paying more than this. Hes had a bad year and is 23, a risk for an expensive player. If Anaheim looks to move him, this is the best they get. I never said they should or will. As in, where I said "What does Anaheim have to gain out of this?

Id imagine this:
ANA fans think Zegras could get more, he could not. No team is giving up more than this after the season he has had

So, do they move him for a first and two top 55 picks? Who knows. Do those picks have the upisde Zegras does? tbh probably not, but they could be used to fill in other needs through draft or trade. Just curious for now"
