Kuemper
Kuemper at 5x5.5 gives me heartburn, not going to lie. I think the Caps should not give him more than 4 years, especially if the cap hit is north of 5.
Also think goalie backup will be Fucale, cheaper, younger and better than Copley.

Tom Wilson will be on LTIR, sounds like he won't be back until January at the earliest.

Not when he's literally the only option on the market.
Malkin about to be 36 years old, seems to have injury concerns too the last couple seasons. Caps might be able to wheel and deal him to sign for a few years, revenge against the Pens.

Because this front office is still trying to compete and still thinks we are? We aren't the actual GMs of the Caps.. so they aren't trading one of the best value contracts in the NHL for picks. This is what I said months ago.

Their blue line shot went off Mojo's stick, was going wide but hit Hathaways arm and perfectly lands in the slot for Reinhart. That's not skill, that's not the better team being better, that is a fluke bounce that lands on a 30 goal scorers stick in the slot with 2 minutes left in the game. Hockey is 50% luck.</div></div>
I guess keep telling yourself the universe just didn't favor the Caps, for like most of their history..if that makes ya feel better.

The only reason you're selling him is because the Caps won't sell the players they should sell. So you're left moving a guy that any true contender would love to add.
Caps ain't a true contender.
There's a reason Sheary was a contributor on two cup teams.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ClockReads2113</b></div><div>O for sure. Their 2016 Cup was well earned. Their 2017 was not. Caps absolutely dominated that series but PIT got like 12-3 in terms of fluky, bouncing puck goals and Fleury stood on his head. Next round they get the freakn Senators who had no business being there. Fleury returned to Earth and got pulled, so Murray came in and killed it. They went Game OT to beat the freakn Senators. Then in the Finals they faced a Nashville team that had zero top 6 centers because Johansen got hurt the last game of the Western Conference Finals. They were extremely lucky to win the 2017 Cup. Should have been Caps.
You have to admit hockey is a very lucky sport. I believe some mathematician did the math and found hockey to be the flukiest of all sports. It's not to say good teams don't win, they usually do, but not as often as they should. It's what makes hockey the best.</div></div>
Consistently good teams put themselves in a position to win over and over again. Do you really feel the Caps have done that since the Cup? I don't. They have fine regular season performances during stretches, but we also see stretches of how they behave in the playoffs (poorly). So to me, that's the real them, not the stretches of good. They're not a good team, not when it matters most. So they lose. Nothing to do with luck.

That's kinda silly. He's 29 and producing really well, especially for his cap hit. You literally describe him as a great player, but want to remove him simply for youth? For a younger player that's going to be worse? Sorry that makes no sense.
There's 5-6 other dudes that should be moved and removed before Sheary.

Maybe because they stop skating and stop putting the foot down on the gas pedal that these bad luck goals hurt them? There's no universe where they should be losing a game 5 up 3-0 in the second.
They find ways to lose, and bad teams do that. Regular season be damned. Playoffs is what matters, and they've been downright trash for 4 straight playoff seasons now.

The Caps suck. They're too old, too slow, and too inconsistent. They don't have the endurance and legs to hang with fast run and gun teams in today's NHL. We've seen it for four straight seasons now. It's time to make MASSIVE changes when they lose Friday. Trade everyone, except Ovi, Backy and Kuzy.

GM disagrees with you. Traded Sprong for an old rehash. Long as the Caps have the core, they will push for the playoffs. You don't trade Sheary in that situation.
