That Vegas blueline is terrifying now this is great for them. This is brutal for Calgary. Only getting a little bit more than what Chiarot got is sad.

Chychrun didn't return two firsts when he was traded from the Coyotes last year. His production was better, his contract was cheaper, and he had the same term remaining.
Matheson is worth less than Chychrun.

Depends on what your window looks like imo. The devils for example shouldn’t be going all in imo. The focus should be prolonging the window as much as possible to get as many quality chances over the life of Jacks contract. Wait out the Capitals, Islanders, and Penguins who are all old with very limited prospect pools. Wait out the aging rags, wait out the canes if possible.
Carolina tho may be a team that could go all in this year or next. Teams getting older and older and closer to free agency and at some point they’ve gotta go for it. This imo feels like their best chance this year.

All in all, Monahan will be loved in Winnipeg. He does EVERYTHING.
And yes, Kent Hughes got 2 first round picks for 74 games of Monahan.

I said Lindholm would not go for double what Monahan did. I was also wrong.
Weird ol' place the NHL!
If it's any consolation, I think you are very wrong about Monahan being bad at 5-on-5. I have watched him for the last 74 games he played as a Hab, and he's good everywhere.
I predict you love having him on your team and the Jets re-sign him in the offseason.

However, can we please not forget the Habs fans that were out there saying you were getting Kakko + or a First and a top prospect?</div></div>
And they were fans who said the Jets wouldn’t trade Logan Stanley straight up for Monahan. It’s not exclusive to any fanbase. Bad takes on both sides (+ bad takes from third parties). I hope people will now understand how to differentiate users from their fanbase and not put anyone in the same group.

If you expect apologies you will wait a long time. People enjoy pissing on Habs fan. Take that as a victory and let them go, most of them doesn’t have any knowledge about hockey in general and doesn’t watch any hockey game other than their respective team. I call them the Hockey Db specialitst, very good at pointing up stats but when it’s time to put a perspective on those stats they aren’t able to make a coherent sentence.

It’s probably easier to come back next year in TDL season and say how delusional and out of touch MTL fans are, and how Chiarot and Monahan deals were fluke. And it’s not exclusive to Jets fans.

The 1st round pick is potentially in the late 20s to 30s compared to the 2023 pick which was on the early teens at the time of the trade. Kuzmenko’s value is at an all time low and probably not worth much more than Beauvillier as they are both kind of a cap match. Raty is a bit more valuable than Brz and Jurmo and the 4th are kinda just there</div></div>

2024 Midterm Central Scouting International Skaters
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LIRIK</b></div><div>This is a bad ranking list, but that could be close to the right order when comes draft day.
Helenius could be picked as high as 5 if teams consider him a future top 6 center.
Looking at last year, Silayev ahead of Demidov is likely. Teams seems to value big defenseman over small skilled wingers. Rightfully imo.
After WJC, Brandsegg Nygard should be picked ahead of Hemming, but it'll depend on the remaining of the season. They're both similar players.
Scoring wingers playing on their offside can easily put up points on bigger european ice. Doesn't always translate well into the NHL. Could explain why Chernyshov is low.</div></div>
Last season Chernyshov was really good this year is quite the opposite. This shows that scouts don't look too closely at last year's play.

Updated WJC Rankings with Analysis
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LIRIK</b></div><div>Great list. Always looking forward to read your rankings and mock drafts. Love the comparable and the reasoning.
Eiserman is about to break Caufield's goal record in the USHL without anything close to Hughes or Zegras as linemates. He's still top 3 imo.
I think Dickinson is still ahead of Buium even after WJC. Even if Buium has better offensize creativity, Dickinson is better in every other category.
I agree Silayev talent wise is out of the top 10, but a team will reach for him just like Arizona did with Simashev last year.
Parekh defensive plays has me worried too, but his offensive upside and the fact that he's RHD push him in the top 15.</div></div>
Like said, goal-scoring is undeniable. But I really don't like his skating, out of the people in my top 10, Eiserman's skating is the worst.
Buium is ahead of him on my board, but I bet Dickinson will be selected first because of size.
I 100% agree with you on your take on Silayev.
Parekh gives me Dragicevic vibes. I'm not saying that he will fall out of the first round, but he will fall slightly in the draft.

2nd overall
No point in drafting Lindstrom 2nd OA. We can easily move to 4 and draft him. If he somehow gets drafted in the top 3 as we move down spots, we get Eiserman (Levshunov is a top 3 lock IMO due to the number of teams needing him like SJ, CHI, ANA, probably PHI, EDM if they don't rise, you get the point)
