Good job. You are probably the first jets fans I have seen here not overvalued their player.

I don't understand acquiring Barron and trading Pionk.
If Pionk is on the market, make the Habs trade:
Dubois & Pionk
For Barron, Beck, Dvorak, Roy, a 2nd, and a 4th

I came here expecting a very one-sided Jets trade, happily I was surprised and while I hate the idea of giving up both Brck and Barron I think this could/would be a trade both sides find agreeable (outside of Windjammer, Howie and some of the Habs fans followers who want to wait on Dubois). Good job at finding some middle ground!

No thanks from Winnipeg. There's no reason for Winnipeg to do that. The Jets would just keep the far better player.

dubois >> suzuki
lucius also has more upside than poehling
dubois's deal should be at most 8M for 8 years, 125K more annually than suzuki got, so its really not that much of a problem for dubois needing a deal. heck, maybe he even takes a hometown discount and is paid less than suzuki's extension
so all in all, if you want dubois and lucius for suzuki and poehling, someone valuable will have to be added. maybe a first + a B prospect

Copp is a centre. He has taken 9 more face-offs then Mark Schiefele this year with a FO% of 55.2%

Schmidt has been better in WPG this year than he was with VAN last year. If the jets were to trade him they would to at least get a third back for him if not more.

no I do get boeser is an RFA. But scheifele is better than both of them. Now does that make up for Copp being worse than both of them? Idk, that’s why I said you probably need to add on winnipegs end.

He was part of the problem.
The other parts are Scheifele and Wheeler.
Until we address the 2 remaining issues, the Jets aren’t going anywhere.

I’m good with Scheif+Copp+Stanley+3rd for Boeser+Miller but we might need to trade or buyout Wheeler to afford extensions
Send Beaulieu to Boston for a 3rd, recoup the one we give VAN or do this first then flip the BOS 3rd to VAN.
Appleton for Harkins, no add
Personally, I don’t see a reason for Chychrun when we need an RD upgrade.
Schmidt+Heinola+Vesa+2nd to NJD for Severson and we get to keep our 1st.

Also a big game for Dave Lowry. A win against the Avs right now puts him in a prime position to finish out the year trending in the right direction and potentially stick as the head coach.

Nolan Patrick would be interesting as 3rd line center.
Yamamoto is a fun player, but not sure he would be suited for checking line role and we have plenty of young wingers that will likely be better than him.

This is a very good team. The 2nd line is probably the weakest part, but could consider sticking Ehlers on it to even out the talent. This team could win the cup if Dvorak turns into a true top 6 center. I think he's my biggest question mark.
