I agree that Jets are unlikely to deal Ehlers, but if they went full rebuild mode what do you realistically think they would get for him?
This package translates to:
#7 overall pick this year
High second round pick this year
Greig (drafted late 1st round in 2020, was on the Canadian WJC team)
Brannstrom....maybe still has potential?
Brown (deadline trade candidate on expiring contract...Jets probably get a 3rd round pick for him)

One way ticket to Robidas island
Tbh I'm not sure what Roy's value is so the aav could be off. With that said there is no easy match for Vegas with their cap situation. I loaded Vegas in the agm and they only have 8 forwards signed next year and 4.35 million in cap space

Should leafs trade down for extra pick and kraken up
This is the kind of draft day deal you see pretty often in the NFL.
Based on current standings it translates to approximately pick 28 for 35 and 50. On paper I think this is good for the Leafs but depends on Seattle really wanting a certain prospect that they don't think will be available 5-10 picks later

Approved Fix For Leafs Number Two
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PeteKyte</b></div><div>Suggested three separate trades in the forum in total, which leaves the lineup looking like this:
Marner -- Matthews -- Bunting
Konecny -- Tavares -- Robertson
Crouse -- Kerfoot -- Kase
Engvall -- Kampf -- Mikheyev
Extras: Spezza/Simmonds (send Clifford down). The two of them can hang around to provide moral support (which seems like what they do best anyway) but neither do much of anything in the lineup and the forwards as above are much better than with either of them in the lineup.
(Note: YES, forget Spezza and Simmonds. Stuck in the mud old farts. Time for a Cup, not warm and fuzzy feels.)
Rielly -- Brodie
Sanheim -- Braun
Sandin -- Chara
Extra: Muzzin. If he's healthy, he'll likely slot in and for me, it would be for Sandin.
Fleury
Campbell
Isn't this a better lineup? More balance. Stronger defensively. Tougher. Roll four lines. Kampf's is strictly a checking line. Can interchange Robertson/Crouse/Kase between 2nd and 3rd lines.
For all of this, the Leafs would have given up:
Nylander
Mrazek
Dermott
Liljegren
Holl
Abruzzese
2022 1st Round Pick
2023 3rd Round Pick
2023 5th Round Pick
So, let's have it! What's everyone think?</div></div>
This is interesting PK. You should do this in AGM to see what the cap implications would be

I think its time for Steve Briere to be fired
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>I think its time for the Leafs to get a new goaltending coach. Steve Briere has been with us since 2016 and so far the results have been mixed. Would like for us to go get a guy with more experience and pedigree.
No idea who is available but I think its time for a change in that department
As we have seen in the past that sometimes it takes for a new goalie coach to come in and help out the teams goalie issues.</div></div>
It has been tough watching the Leafs goaltending lately.
A coaching change may help but at this point it would likely be an offseason decision.
It was unrealistic for anybody to expect Campbell to sustain the run he was on indefinitely but this has been a pretty extended cold streak. What is more concerning to me right now is his admitted mental struggles. If he cannot get his confidence back soon we will not be able to put much trust in him for the playoffs.
On another note if Leafs don't get past first round do they re-sign Campbell and for how much?

Noted about the cap but Edmonton does have other options. They could go the rental route with someone more experienced like Fleury or Holtby and part with less draft capital.
I will also admit some bias as a Leafs fan. Swayman has looked great so far in a small sample size but Raycroft did as well. Two firsts is a big gamble but if Swayman becomes elite the price is well worth it

Bringing Truculence Back
Who knows maybe Burkie will want to go retro and bring back the truculence era. I know not likely but remember he did say this before:

What, still no takers? 🙂
