Mason Marchment

Malgin is playing top 6 with the Lions and has 32 points in 35 games. When he comes for the playoffs hes gonna be fun to watch as he has improving his passing and. Pulijarvi benefited from going overseas and the same thing is happening with Malgin. For 2021-2022 and this years playoffs hes gonna be great to watch. Florida always gives their 4th line more ice time than other teams its nothing new. Quenneville liked a balanced attack with 4 lines getting good chunk of ice time. If mason was here he would get 5-8 mins at best.

DID LA want a DYNAMIC LD
Friedman said they were specifically looking for a 25 or younger dynamic LHD. Rielly is 2 years older than the upper age of what they are looking for.
Even if Rielly was what they were looking for, LA would not trade that.
I know that many Leafs fans have recently decided that the Leafs' are going to trade Reilly for a massive return so that Dermott can finally move up the lineup and Sandin can finally play, but that is the exact opposite of the way Toronto operates.

1st overall pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafloyalist</b></div><div>to get first dibs? ur gonna wait for bernier to be better?
u pay to get first dibs before they go to free agency, just like mark stone etc...</div></div>
Comparing Vegas to Wings is rich, my god the Andersson is 30 and had an average series against Blue Jackets and Stone was 27, when traded and was stud in Ottawa. Totally different. I would not want Andersson, as I think he is good, but overworked of late and not playing behind an elite team will show more cracks.
There will be a lot of younger goalies hitting the market this year and next due to cap issues and expansion draft.

TradeSSS with Columbus
Neither team is making either of these trades.
Columbus- isn’t trading Folingo and we have no really use for Kapanen or Johansson we have plenty of those players already. We also have no use for a LHD who’d play on the 3rd pair. Also you aren’t offering near enough for Columbus to retain on any of the trades.
As for Toronto, they value Kapanen and Johansson better then anything they are acquiring.

I like adding Foligno and Anderson. Sure, Columbus wins the long term goal but the move for the Leafs has them in a win now mode. The Savard deal is not gonna happen and i think Dermitt is good now and will get better, low cost 3rd pairing or possibly 2nd pairing. For that reason, you are moving the wrong players in the deal. You need some cap relief to make this team a playoff contender.

"maybe there is a reason why we cant find a partner for Rielly....cuz hes not that good defensively and we blame it on his partners." Absolutely correct.
For the first 8 games last season, Reilly was the worse Leaf Dman due to offensive recklessness an defensive liabilities. When the Leafs have the puck, Reilly is good/very good, but when the Leafs don't have the puck Reilly is average at best. Due to his skating ability and fine play on the PP, Reilly has avoided almost all criticism for his overall play.

Josh Anderson wants out CBJ wants term Marner cant shoot at all
Seth Jones is worth more than Marner. Marner is great but he is overpaid ( he is a poorer version of Mark Stone) by at least 2 million. Meanwhile, before injury and encompassing most of the season, Seth Jones has put a body of work that’s nearly Norris trophy conversation and he is the next batch of peaking ultra-elite D man who has it all: amazing at PK, can run the PP great ( ideal 2nd PP QB at worst, only if Hughes or Karlsson of old are running the 1st unit), big, strong, fast, great shot, good passing, calm under pressure, good positioning. He is a franchise cornerstone that’s in top 10 value for franchise cornerstones: he is being paid less than six million when he is playing in the 8-9 million league for defenseman. All this comes with a 25 year old right shot ‘ unicorn’ league guy.
His price will be, at bare minimum, a blue-chip prospect, a top 5-10 draft pick and a roster filler to even entice the blues to trade him. Or in this case, Marner and a first coming back for Jones and an AHL-er/roster filler guy for leafs. Period. Most teams will offer way more than this happily to pry Jones from CBJ.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLSage</b></div><div>John Tavares is a great hockey player and do not think you truly appreciated his talent level when he was playing on a really poor Islander teams and very unstable franchise. Tavares did not make up the NHL UFA Rules and you have to respect a players decision to sign as a UFA where ever he wants. I am not crying that Gardiner or JVR left the Leafs of thir own free will to sign as a UFA in Carolina and Philladelpia as this was their choice. Things are working out fine for the Islanders without Tavares. The Islanders entire franchise was a mess until Lou and Trotz arrived and you can not blame Tavares for wanting to come home and play in Toronto.</div></div>
I'm not getting into this debate. Said a million times that it wasn't the fact he left the Islanders, but how he did it. And lets not pretend JVR or Gardiner are even near the same level as Tavares.
I watched him intently for as long as he was there. He's done exactly the same in Toronto so give it a rest. My initial comments about how he plays are 100% accurate
