Leafs Offseason is likely over
Vesey will play with Kerfoot I think as they did in College. At least try it to start.
Kerfoot - Thorton - Vesey
Barabanov - Spezza - Simmonds

There is a far greater probability Laine is moved next summer, if he is moved at all, before the entry draft. When all the teams have a better handle on where they are.</div></div>
PHilly would not give up that much for Lanie. Konency is very good himself and not that far behind Lanie. I agree might be summer before a move is done.

IT allows them to sign another top 6 forward though with Cap space. Hoffman even could bean option.
I think they become a better team then.

Okay, true in the market right now. HOnestly I am unloading Dermott for a pick so 3rd or 4th then would be fine.

It's amazing how this crap keeps persisting when Matt Cooke nearly ended Bergeron's career when Lucic was literally 20 feet away, and then Cooke didnt fight Lucic ever and Cooke was as dirty as always every single time he faced the Bruins forever.
Reaves is a fine 4th liner and if he wasnt a fighter he'd still be 10x the hockey player that Watson has ever been.
Ellis is 100% one of the best defenders in the league and if you can name 20 better ones, at least 10 of those are wrong.</div></div>
Josi, Chabot, Theodore, Hedman, Heiskanen, Kilnberg, Carlson,Petro, Makar, Jones, Ekblad, Hamilton, Giordano, Ekman Larsson,
Then you still have guys that are close: Rielly, Hughes, Paryako etc

Ellis is one of the best defenders in the league.</div></div>
Marchand has Chara, Ritchie now and Thorton back in the day. That's why he gets to skate away.
Reaves struggles. If he was not tough he would not have a role on a NHL team.
Ellis is good, but not one of the Best defenders in the league. I oculd name 20 guys easily better, if not more.

Also I don;t think Spezza could be a third line guy all year. Sign someone else instead of Rodrigues. Maybe Thornton?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>you're almost there. Yes, i watch lots of Nashville, because they have good players like Ellis that are fun to watch and the only time Watson was ever in frame was when he was getting plowed in by the other team or taking a dumb penalty.
The difference with guys like Reaves and Maroon is that they are decent hockey players who can take a regular shift.
Presence? my god, no one is worried about these guys, especially plugs like Watson or Rinaldo, no one is thinking about their "presence" except in how easy it would be to skate around them and get a scoring chance. You gotta get off the don cherry drugs.</div></div>
Yes they do think about it when you have to awnser the bell after a slash or a hit to one of you superstar players.
Reaves is not a good player either. Watson has more points then him.
Ellis is overpaid, and will be a bad contract soon.

And please with that "sticking up for Matthews" crap, he wont be on the same line, he wont play against anyone who goes against them and no one fears Watson because hockey players are not afraid of useless plugs that they can skate away from laughing.
Him being a terrible hockey player and me confirming it isnt hating on him, it's pointing out that he's a terrible hockey player and shouldnt be in the NHL, let alone targeted on purpose by teams .</div></div>
You a Nashville fan, watch alot of there games? Nashville had a easy out on him when stuff happened with him and they took him back right away. ou honestly don't know much. No he won't be on Matthews line, but Reaves is not on a top line, Maroon was not a top line player, Rinaldo, etc. It's about presence.

hahaha wow, did he do somethign to you? He's a NHL player, so no a rock would not do better.
He's someone who could actually stick up for the guys who hack Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Reilly. Something they do not have. No one fears hittting those guys.

Johnsson is very replacable especially at 3 mill
Leafs have some D prospects coming up so Dermott is expendable.

6 feet and 200 is not a large D man at that level. and if Dermott you consider mena, you have issues man.

Liljegren, Sandin, Dermott, Lehtonen and whoever we get with the 15th pick are all going to be good players at some point.</div></div>
NYlander is good, but Leafs have too many of the same player. Watch the Cup finals and hard to imagine the leafs could handle that type of physical play.
Sandin will be good, Liljegren is very unnown, don't think he looked good when called up, Dermott is not better than a 5-6 D man, and Lehtonen is also unknown how he will play at the NHL level.
