Lineups That I WANT
Leaf's can't afford to not have Clifford or Simmonds in the Lineup.
Perry and Maroon will run all of the Leaf's and Campbell.

Don't go backwards to previous year's. Leaf's were physical and Fast. Continue that narrative.

As I do feel for Spezza, as it could be the last go. The Leaf's need to Win, and teams that do in the playoffs are physical.
Tampa has Perry, Maroon, Kucherov, Sergechev that all play dirty , so Clifford and Simmonds can police it on their own.

You Can't compare Kadri and Clifford.
Kadri was a 2nd Line Center, while Clifford is a 4th line winger.
If he is suspended for that, that will be the standard in the playoffs and that hit is done multiple times.
Keep him in!!

They need Clifford in the lineup.
The 4th line does not play much, and Clifford adds speed and physicality when he's out there.
What is Spezza going to bring in the the 6 mins of ice time?
Clifford is a guy that Tampa knows they will have to deal with if they do something stupid.
Leaf's have not had that guy that will cross the line in a while and I like it.

Playoff lines
I don't think you take Mikheyev off the line with Tavares, he has been very good there. Also Nylander has played well with Engvall and Kerfoot.
so if Kase can go I'd go.
Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Mikheyev - Tavares - Kase
Engvall - Kerfoot - Nylander
Simmonds - Kampf - Blackwell

Looking for secondary offence and the guys you listed won’t do that. Spezza is too slow against Tampa.
If Kase is okay to go then yes he should go there

If Muzzin retires
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logan_Ollivier</b></div><div>That's again just media mob thought. JT is an elite hockey player, no question, he makes 11 million because that is what the market dictated prior to the pandemic. Now it seems high but it's not at all a problem. If the Leafs go deep, he'll have nearly a point a game and will be a difference maker. Money well spent. Most of the fools saying the stars are overpaid just don't understand the economics of hockey. They think spending 5 million each on 6 players is better than paying 4 guys 35 million. However, none of the 5 million dollar players can hold a candle to the elite players and a 1 million dollar player can be just as impactful when they find chemistry with the elite players. JT makes guys better, his contract is fine, he can make Kerfoot look good, or Engvall or Mikheyev. That's why he gets paid big.</div></div>
Well lets look at it this way has 4 players and 35 Mill worked? Has the 11 Mill on a 2nd Line Center worked?
Tampa, Boston and wining teams that make long runs have really good players on good deals.
So I would say 2-3 players on that 11 Mill rather than 1 2nd line Center would probably be more beneficial.
No question on the market Tavares was getting 11 Mil from someone, it's just those signings that end up costing you at times.
I'm a Leaf's fan so hopefully I'm proved wrong.

I'm not complaining. I literally saying The D looks Greta now right now without Muzzin lol. Read before being such a homer that you can't think.
Also just said people complain about Tavares because he's not an 11 Million dollar player. He's still good, but just not worth his pay'

If Muzzin retires
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logan_Ollivier</b></div><div>That's just mob thought. Muzzin and Brodie look very good together. It lets Muzzin focus on his physicality and defensive play while Brodie can handle the puck moving more. Holl and Muzzin don't work anymore because Holl can't do the pick moving well enough. The muzzin demise is as overblown as the JT decline. Both are nonsensical</div></div>
What?!?
Muzzin's injuries will limit his physicality. His defensive play if you are watching this season have been terrible as well. I never mentioned Holl with Muzzin, as everyone in the world knows they can't be together. Lets Hope Muzzin can play to more of what he was last year with Brodie in the the playoffs as it would be huge for the Leafs if that happens. I also do like Muzzin, his game is juts off this season.
Tavares I never brought up. Although the reason for people complaining about his decline as he's not that 11 Million player. If he was making 6-8 Mill, you would not hear a thing.

I honestly don't know if he fits right now.
All pairing s look good right now and compliment each other. Muzzin whoever he has played with has made them worse. ex. Holl and Brodie.
His Injuries are quite significant this late in his career and he very well could decide life after hockey may be better if he calls it after this year.

so this team is very similar, and if they can't win now, do you think 3 rookies will help you get over the top.
If they do not do well this year in the playoffs, there will be a big move. Nylander I think will be the guy moved, as much as it should be Tavares they won't be able to move him.

The world isn't ending here nor have the wheels fallen off. Your over exaggerating a little here and besides if it's a "core 4 " you want moved then move the 11 million dollar Tavares</div></div>
I would agree, but you won’t be able to move Tavares. No one wants him or his 11 Mil and he has a no trade clause.
They are more than a goalie and D man away from a cup in my opinion. And that’s the ultimate goal, not just win 1 round.

They are less cap strapped than before with this trade.
I just put him there but once Muzzin is back than Put him or Brodie back there.
Jones can't be worse than Marzek right now either. Unfortunate that there is nothing out their goaltending wise unless you give up a ton of your future.

Close to what a Cup?
Like I said, if things keep heading the direction they are, Boston will pass them, and the Leafs will be a wild card team.
Do you think that roster they have is built can beat Tampa, Calgary, Colorado, Carolina, St.Louis, Florida in a 7 game series?
The Leafs are a good team, and will be a 6-12 team in the NHL.

I agree it will be. It's a must they do what Tampa did and have Muzzin come back as a 5-6 in Playoffs. Pick up a top end D man on the deadline.
As what they have now is not good enough for Defense without stellar goaltending.

If Muzzin can come back healthy, I am more than comfortable with Muzzin & Holl as our shutdown pairing.
If TOR is adding a defenseman, it needs to be a sizeable upgrade, or it's insurance for Muzzin not playing capable top 4 minutes. I'm a Sandin fan, but he's not ready to play top 4 playoff minutes in defensive situations.</div></div>
Yikes Muzzin and Holl shut down pair will not get it done. Hasn't yet in previous years and still won't.
Muzzin is too slow now and Holl can't be protected like he use to be.
Subban is not the answer but if we keep this same story going, it's another first round exit and lots of this group will be changed
