They are less cap strapped than before with this trade.
I just put him there but once Muzzin is back than Put him or Brodie back there.
Jones can't be worse than Marzek right now either. Unfortunate that there is nothing out their goaltending wise unless you give up a ton of your future.

Hockey is pretty random, sometimes ya just need better goaltending and a few bounces to go your way and things don’t seem so horrible.</div></div>
Close to what a Cup?
Like I said, if things keep heading the direction they are, Boston will pass them, and the Leafs will be a wild card team.
Do you think that roster they have is built can beat Tampa, Calgary, Colorado, Carolina, St.Louis, Florida in a 7 game series?
The Leafs are a good team, and will be a 6-12 team in the NHL.

Yes both need a change. Leaf fans that think they are close are just fooling themselves. They will soon be a wildcard team.

I agree it will be. It's a must they do what Tampa did and have Muzzin come back as a 5-6 in Playoffs. Pick up a top end D man on the deadline.
As what they have now is not good enough for Defense without stellar goaltending.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TML_Bias</b></div><div>Subban is not a fit. Holl fills the role we ask him to just fine.
If Muzzin can come back healthy, I am more than comfortable with Muzzin & Holl as our shutdown pairing.
If TOR is adding a defenseman, it needs to be a sizeable upgrade, or it's insurance for Muzzin not playing capable top 4 minutes. I'm a Sandin fan, but he's not ready to play top 4 playoff minutes in defensive situations.</div></div>
Yikes Muzzin and Holl shut down pair will not get it done. Hasn't yet in previous years and still won't.
Muzzin is too slow now and Holl can't be protected like he use to be.
Subban is not the answer but if we keep this same story going, it's another first round exit and lots of this group will be changed

I don't see why the Leafs want any of those guys listed.
They need something with a big impact. Top 6 F or top 4 D
Goaltending they will have to ride out and hope they catch fire at the right time.

Kerfoot is not on the PP, and although can play center, is not good at it.
Holl plays 20 mins by default becasue there D core is that weak. he's a 6th D man.

I am not loking for your approval on a D man. I can tell by your comments you have no idea, and just like to argue with anyone. You think the rest of the legaue is garbage other than the leafs.
Holl is a 6th D man. I would like him on the Leafs as a 6th D man. However he is not better than Myers and other names you seem to always say are " Terrible"

Man you are the worst fan. YOu must be shocked Holl and Dermott did not make the All star game.
I'm not sure your watching the Leafs D. If there goalie is not making unbelivable saves then they give up lots of goals. The Leafs have no one to move a player out front.
Myers is not the answer I do not believe but man major chnage has to be had or else it's the same old story.

I'm saying Nylander is good lol. and if JT is a #1 Center, then your team is very bad.
However my point is the Leafs depth players like Kerfoot, point total is much higher due to who he is playing with.
Copp may be better and put more up than Kerfoot playing with a Nylander, and Dillion is much bettre than Dermott.

It's becasue Toronto's top end players are some of the best in the league.
Matthews and Marner are top 10 NHL players. Nylander ( who i have disliked, game has been much much better ) and Tavares whi is declining is stiill an outstanding 2C.
That's what is making Kerfoot and Guys like that better.
Dillon is much bettre than Dermott, Copp and Kerfoot is a wash so I would not give up extra assets for that to lose Copp next year.
Oh and Holl is 30 ( not young ) and declining, as is Muzzin.

Every single year the leafs spend assets on 'depth' like schenn or motte and every year it hasnt worked. Like how many more times do you and others need to see that spending picks and prospects on low end guys does nothing?</div></div>
Looking for who you think?
They are strapped with the cap. So curious who you think they should go after and giving up what?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>very true. Kerfoot was good, but he did not replace tavares, and in this case you'd get kerfoot being worse than tavares and motte being worse than Kerfoot both too high up the lineup.
The leafs do not need bottom roster players, they need guys who can push ones they have down. This has been the issue for years, Gardiner, Kadri, tavares, muzzin etc. they need higher end players for insulation and bottom roster players do not help shield you near enough.</div></div>
Love to hear what you get then in the cap situation the Leafs are. Your always quick to rip on others, but would love to hear what you think the Leafs should do to improve.

This is just how it goes on here though, opinion is law, evidence doesn't matter and reputation is everything.
How many people on here see Colin Miller as an upgrade when he has been a healthy scratch on the past 3 teams he's played on including Buffalo who are much worse than TO. But he's better because people say so.</div></div>
Your right, all the analyst who have played in the NHL or have been around the game a long time think Mason is better than Holl, BUT you don't and think that puck possesion is the whole game now. You must be right.
I am not one of those people on Colin Miller, but I am with Manson whi is better than Holl and would be a nice #4 D.
Holl can fit in the 5-6 role and would be great at it.

That makes it very difficult to have rational conversations on here.
I would like to say, I don't think Manson is terrible, I just haven't seen anything to make me think he's an improvement over Holl. And if we are moving a 1st or Robertson, I would want a decent upgrade for 2 RD. Manson isn't that.</div></div>
Haha dude you are that homer, perfect example is Holl. He was a healthy scratch this year. Manson is much better and maybe it’s not analytics ( which I have no idea about ) but it’s proven that it’s not the most important thing. Sure it helps a bit. But Leafs must get stronger on the backend.
