correct the Leafs are trying to work on Dumba or a bigger move with CAR's Pesce. Pesce is a free agent. CAR will not pay him. they will lose him for nothing in the offseason.

It might interest you to know that the two earliest picks in the same 5th round (here, the value of your second one is diluted by being a year later) plus the best pick in the seventh round is about the ninth or tenth pick in the fourth round, and I would characterize Kokkonen as a B prospect. Dumba with retention is clearly worth more.
If Kokkonen is such a legit prospect, keep him and just give Arizona the Islanders third for Dumba.</div></div>
lol OK, I will lower the price and just trade a 3rd. I was trying to be nice.

Dumba is a good skater and puck mover. He can play in the top 4 easy. Brodie and McCabe need to play the Left. They are horrible on the right side.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SharkTank</b></div><div>Larry Lowballing on Liljegren.
20 man roster won't work.
Too much for Tanev.
Gregor and Benoit will be re-signed.
Robertson isn't a checking line player. He likely slots in at 3LW.
Allow me to channel my 80s Duran Duran...
His name is Gio and he skates like he's in quick sand
Just like Morgan Rielly whose shot can't break a goalies glove hand
And when Willy scores, he really shows you all 11.5 mil he can
Oh Gio, Gio skate across to Brad Marchand</div></div>
Liljegren is coming off of a 1.2M deal was injured for most of the season so far. He has not played like a top 4 dman yet. maybe that changes.
20 man roster works, cause thats how the Leafs started the season this year. With 20 men.
Robertson will need to be on the roster due to the tight cap. He will move around, 3rd and 4th line depending on whos playing.
Its funny how much better defensively the Leafs got after Gio came back from his broken finger. Leads the Leafs in blocked shots and penalty killing.

Dumba is better than Lagesson, Benoit, Lajoie, and TImmons so he definitely moves the needle. Leafs need a steady NHL caliber dman that can make a simple first pass. Dumba can do that for sure. He is an expiring UFA so the rental price wont be much.

Maple Leafs 2024-2025
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>Wow there is a lot to unpack here.
1st) The rangers are going to lock up Gus. Even if he walked he would be looking for way more than league min.
2nd) Samsonov is not going to win you a cup, need to move him and address goaltending.
3rd) 4 guys are making near half of your salary cap.
4th) Bert will be getting a raise next season, I would assume he realizes his value.
5th) A 21 man roster is not going to sustain itself.
6th) Domi will most likely want more term and job security.
7th) You are slightly underpaying your RFAs</div></div>
1) The Rangers could lock him up. thats fine. There are a lot of 1M dmen out there.
2) Samsonov did something no goalie in Toronto has done in 20 years. OUT DUEL a top 5 goalie in the NHL and win a series.
3) 16 teams in the NHL are over the cap of 32 teams. I take the Leafs forwards over ever other NHL team over the salary cap.
4) Bert as a 20 goal 50-60 pt guy will not be expensive on a 5-8 year deal. Lots of comparisons out there. example Hyman, Dadonov, Barbashev
5) this 21 man roster is top 5 in the NHL in wins and points.
6) Domi will sign for less and long term he never wants to play for another team again.
7) NOT at all. I gave everyone a raise. MOST dont even deserve it. But i still gave raises.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lyle_Bubas</b></div><div>20-21 man roster was the plan last year but literally the ENTIRE season we had at least 1 major playor injured, be it hyman, mikheyev, marner, Tavares, Reilly, Muzzin, Ceci etc. etc.
Hopefully that doesn't happen again but in all likelihood there could be an injury that we put on LTIR and then we aren't pressed against the cap</div></div>
thats why the depth now built into the roster is so important. Leafs have lots of waiver exempt players they can move around.

he will be on the taxi squad and will be called up and down like a lot of players. Leafs will manage their cap on a daily basis. Since most players are waiver exempt the Leafs will be doing paper transactions and sending players down on off days and up on game days. Cap space accumulates daily so the Leafs can turn $20,000 into 1-2M by trade deadline.
