Lindholm for WIlly long term - Early Season
updated to include an additional prospect. Would add another prospect on top if required outside of Knies, Robertson and Topi as this would be an all in move for the leafs in the Nylander window

Saw you are lacking D men, is Brodie not worth anything? Robertson is like a 2nd

Tons of room
Considering the Cap constraints the last few years, the fact the biggest negative is the money issued was too much means the leafs situation is even better than I thought!
The AM24 and Nylander extensions are a Brodie sacrifice unfortunately, Cap growth of 2-3 mill + his 5 million gives us 7 million of growth in salaries with a young Dman backfilling. Hard to swallow for the one year, but we get way more room the next.

Post deadline
I just don't see the market for Domi so the idea that Columbus gets a big door crasher of an offer seems farfetched.
Steeves gives a guy for the present (he's a center, but can play the wing). Mikeyev could be resigned and is great value, leafs just can't afford him.
Honestly made this as a joke for my buddy who suggested, helium from Jackets fans is wild. And i'm a leafs fan lol

Leafs next year Engvall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafs_and_Sens_Fan</b></div><div>You must say though 1.25M x 2 is a severe underpayment.</div></div>
We are talking about signing a currently injured player, to a guaranteed 1 way deal, where the injury he is recovering from has the potential to impact him long term with loss of feeling in his hand. There is risk to that for Ilya which is why i gave the extra year.
But sure make it a one year deal. the cap next year is my only concern on making this.

Leafs next year Engvall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafs_and_Sens_Fan</b></div><div>Let's put it this way. I'd rather Mikheyev than Kerfoot so why would he get 1/3 the money?</div></div>
He would get 1/3 because he has 1/3 of the resume. I love the passion in your debate for him being a great player, but its unproven still because of the injury. Mikheyev could wait until the playoffs are done and hope he improves his value, but it could also go the other way. Plus i think we will begin to see the Leafs RFAs start to jump at the cap space that is free, knowing there is only so much the leafs can spend. sure the KHL is an option, but he has been quoted of seeing the NHL as the ultimate goal.
This idea that we always have to pay people at the highest point of their value, should be reserved for those with a resume. Unfortunately, thanks to the injury, his resume at this point is closer to that of a Co-op Term

I think this is very creative and sets them up for a cup run without mortgaging the future, especially when Reilly comes back. I would say without knowing much on Dillon it would be a hard sell to give up Barrie.

He's consistently identified as a potential Team Canada Rep, which normally is reserved for top dman. at worst a "2nd" but you honestly think he is in the 63-93 range of D in the league?

What doesn't make sense? Ceci isn't in the deal, nor is manson worse than him, so confused by your comment.

If that is Muzzin's ask, you let him walk. I think anything more than 3 years term unless he take a longer front loaded deal with the thought of eventually retiring early or whatever, you just let him go. His best days are probably behind him. He's still really good no doubt but to expect value out of a contract like this is extremely risky.</div></div>
This is the first time he's been injured, but yes the idea is front load it, so it can be moved if required down the line

Loved what I saw of Korshkov so far. With him and Sandin making far more than other bubble guys, the leafs made a trade to remain under the cap. What is a better trade option to get value for Hyman?

Except it seemed heavy with Toronto getting a pick back. Hyman and Bracco get it over the line, and the leafs can drop 1-2 bench players at the deadline if they need to aquire a player making 2.5 or more.

No way the Leafs give Marner that much salary for only 3 years, max he gets is $8m on a 3 year deal</div></div>
that would leave 3 million for Gardner so even easier to make this work

Ceci with Signing Bonus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kongol</b></div><div>Why would you waste money signing Gardiner?
The Leafs have Sandin who is very close to being ready to crack the roster. They have Dermott. They have Borgeman.
They have enough LHD they don't need to add another.
If they did they could find someone else for less to turn the puck over rather than sign Gardiner.</div></div>
Gardner wants to sign with us below market value, and contrary to popular Toronto criticism is a top 60 defenceman in the league. We also risk losing Barrie and Muzzin.
2021 we see the leafs with a defence of
Reilly Dermott
Gardner Liljegren
5-6 million D & Sandin
