If Toronto does acquire Chychrun please play him at his natural LD position.
He's having a rough season in Ottawa.

I wouldn't say it's bad because it doesn't have long term implications on Chicago but it feels like a clear overpay just to keep the player in Chicago.

Nylander's camp could argue that he is better but there is Fiala who is making under 8M. Will be interesting to see what DeBrincat and Meier get.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ElectroMan</b></div><div>That's the thing. I never said "bonafide" you just keep repeating it. You just misrepresent arguments instead of addressing what I actually said. I said he played in the top 4 this season and on the top pair with Dahlin at the end. That is true. You said he was on the 3rd pair with Bryson & Fitz all of those minutes. That was completely false. You get caught being wrong & just move on to the next argument. That's acting in bad faith.
If you knew plenty about the player you'd know his ceiling is much higher than a 4th d man lmao. The role that he's already playing in.</div></div>
Do you understand the difference between being "a top 4 Dman" and getting to play a few hundred top 4 minutes (with varying degrees of success, some of those degrees being reeeally bad) on a team with one of the weakest D stables in the league last season? Two very different things, dude. I rode a camel in the Sahara a couple times - doesn't make me a Bedouin. And appropriately, no one should hail me as one because I ain't there yet.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafs_and_Sens_Fan</b></div><div>Very risky contract... seems desperate to me. Over 7.14M after only one good season... how much are they actually saving by signing him now instead of letting him prove himself for another season? On the other hand if he regresses you get another Jeff Skinner like contract.</div></div>
At least Thompson’s cap hit is almost $2M less than Skinner’s.
The difference with the Skinner contract was that they knew exactly what they were getting when they extended him. He ran hold and cold for 8 years in Carolina, so it shouldn’t have surprised anybody that he fell off after his 40-goal season, nor that he rebounded later.
Thompson could turn out to be like that, but it’s also possible that we saw the real Tage Thompson last season, and he will be able to deliver consistently. The problem is, we don’t know.

Its almost like Plus/Minus doesn't paint the whole picture. Aside from all that, Chiarot, like Muzzin, is exactly what Toronto needs in the playoffs, minus the annual 1st round injuries.</div></div>

How bout not.
Klingberg is a glorified version of Tyson Barrie - actually calling him a more offensive version of Morgan Rielly is a huge insult to Rielly, Klingberg’s worse. Klingberg would fit in Toronto the same way Barrie did, which he didn’t. He would need 1st unit PP time and sheltered minutes at 5v5 to be successful and that’s not happening in Toronto and not happening for the price of Liljegren and a 1st round pick plus more. Rielly has the 1st unit PP locked down and Sandin has the 2nd locked down, and with Muzzin struggling defensively this season there’s no one to shelter Klingberg with so he just doesn’t fit in.
Toronto’s likely not interested in him and definitely not at the price of Liljegren, 1st, +

A stupid move that Id consider
Montreal wouldn't trade for Vlasic without getting serious assets back and moving out their own bad contracts. Which makes no sense for SJ to do. Why move Vlasic and get back Armia + Byron at the cost of Eklund and an unprotected 1st? Cause that is what it would take at a minimum. Vlasic has no value at all and while Byron and Armia aren't very sought after they do at least have some value. Use Marleau as a baseline, 1 year 7 mil cost the Leafs an unprotected 1st, how much more would the Sharks have to give up for 4 more years?

Vancouver is not trading Rathbone for a player like Kapanen, although I do think they might have some interest in Kapanen, Rathbone won't be part of a return package for him
Motte fetches a 3rd rounder minimum, and Canucks probably have to retain maximum salary on Miller in that deal</div></div>
You got this backwards, my man. This is an instance of fans overvaluing their prospects. Yeah, he's an ok prospect, but Kap is worth far more than that.
First off, the Pens have no reason to move Kapanen right now. Maybe that changes because of other players they need to keep, but if they did, they can get way more than that.

My mouth is watering if I'm a Coyotes fan. I think all the deals are fine except for the Islanders trade. I know Gostisbehere is having a good season, but I still think that's a gross overpayment by the Isles, even with dumping Hickey's buried penalty. And what if Ghost suddenly drops off with a change of scenery? Then the Isles are in even deeper trouble than they already are

Ekholm is a good dman but he'll be 32 by the TDL. His next contract is going to be overpriced for the good part of it so an extension is not that enticing. He's a pure rental IMO.

First off, use Seattle for your “anywhere” trades, fewer fans to complain.
Eakin will cost you assets to get rid of, no one is giving anything.
