Faksa for Larsson
If Larsson = Faksa in trade value, how come Larsson is worth a 5 x $5.1M contract but Faksa is only worth 4 x $3.2M?

That Sheahan contract is a massive overpay. He's reportedly asking for $1.5M x 2 but Holland is wisely not putting pen to paper. He had a terrible season.

Think there's still potential for Jost to be more then that and he's a center as well, probably not as easy to find in free agency as you think it is.</div></div>
Jost can't play center at the NHL level, they try every year and it never works.
Pronman ranked Samorukov inside the top 80, ahead of players like Josh Brook, Martin Kaut and even Edmonton's own Rafael Lavoie. I think that's an A level prospect.

get ready to lambaste me Krueger is the problem
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WellIDK</b></div><div>I think the problem is bigger than just the coach. They had a good start this season (9-2-2 in october) and it's not the first time Buffalo collapsed after a good start. They were 20-9-5 in last year and finished with a 33-39-10 record. I don't watch a lot of Buffalo games so sure, Krueger could be a part of the problem. But Buffalo has quite some problems; they lack offense (they're a bottom team in scoring for years), defense isn't spectacular (even though Dahlin and Jokiharju is a good core for the future) and they lack a true #1 goalie. Last year Hutton was pretty good for most of the season, this year Ullmark was. But both aren't consistently good.
However, after the collapse last year and ruining a good start this year, I'd also question the character/mentality of the players too. 20-9-5 to 33-39-10 last year is an insane collapse.</div></div>
Typical of a team that lacks veteran leadership. Adam's needs to add a few older guys this summer on the cheap. Jack needs mentoring and support in the dressing room.

Jost
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Edmonton is loaded with defense prospects and already have a pretty decent defense core as it is so Samorukov is in tough to ever break through with the Oilers and a 3rd round pick in 2021 won't be a contributing NHL player for at least three years but odds are it'll be more like 4 or 5 if it even amounts to anything </div></div>
Samorukov probably needs just 1 more year of development before he's ready to step into the NHL. He has 2nd pairing upside, I'd rather that develops for another year and we see where the team is after the expansion draft than trade him for a player we don't need.
I agree that the 3rd has way less value than most CF posters think.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>so yeah in the grand scheme of where Edmonton is at and what their needs are </div></div>
Principally 3C and 2G. Jost isn't either.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>and Jost' potential this is peanuts, the Oilers would be crazy to not make this trade if this is all it takes to acquire Jost.</div></div>
Meh. He's a 20-25 point bottom-6 winger. You can get those in free agency for $1.5M or less without giving up an A level prospect or a 3rd.

Not that I put a ton of stock into that it’s just another reason why I’d rather look elsewhere for a 3c. I’d love jost just don’t see being a worth while fit.</div></div>
No, Jost is terrible at faceoffs.

St Louis has zero cap space and a marquee free agent to sign... nobody is going to take Steen without a massive sweetener as everyone can see the pressure and nobody else benefits from St. Louis keeping Pietrangelo.

They need to shed about $10M in cap. Most of their guys have NTC's so it might be difficult to form a deal, but guys like Gourde, Johnson, Killorn and Palat are all in the mix.

Jost to EDM
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Richard88</b></div><div>Jost is a 3C. He just plays on the wing because we have Compher.
The only argument against Jost at C is his FO%, but FO's are overrated in the NHL these days anyways.</div></div>
Jost can't play C at the NHL level. And if Compher is blocking a player, you know he doesn't have much value.
Ergo: with a healthy roster, Jost doesn't even make the top-12 forwards. He'll likely start the playoffs in the press box waiting for an injury to occur.
Stop trying to argue that Jost would make a good 3C when there's absolutely no evidence of that anywhere.

Edmonton needs a 3C more than a middle-6 winger. I don't think Holland would be interested in Jost much.

The Oilers decline. They aren't trading 5 good pieces for a player they don't need. The depth they are trading away in the deal above is worth FAR more than the superstar they get in return.

We aren't trading Draisaitl for Eichel though. He better AND cheaper, there's simply no motivation for us to consider such a deal.
