Take 2 rangers fans
The problem is that the Rangers need help on C (either 1/2 line) and LHD. If they trade down to pick a center they don't need another one in trade return

An analytical approach

The Rangers would need to add A LOT as Kahun could cost only $3,000,000 next year and Strome over $6,000,000
Kahun and Jokiharju were absolute steals this year. Strome looks good playing with Panarin!</div></div>
Never said that those moves make sense from the other teams perspective in terms of analytics. Same scenario like in the Mete trade

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Doesn't Lundqvist still count, at least partially, against the cap if he retires?</div></div>
A couple of days ago I read that it wouldn´t cost the Rangers, but I have not checked it. The retirement penatly would be around 3 Mio, so they would have to find a cheap replacement for Greene, or let Smith play

Obviously a small sample size but I have to agree with you. I should have clarified it, he is still a good player, but "just" a (high end) bottom pairing guy.

Looking Good on Madison
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wadejos123</b></div><div>Nylander looked better than DeBrincat today. If you think he has no trade value then that's fine, because the hawks don't want to trade him anyways. IMO and most hawks fans that actually watch the games agree, we think Nylander will be better than Ryan Strome. Plus we won't sign Nylander to an expensive deal any time soon. Lias Anderson is the one in this deal with no value. Hawks prefer Nylander to Ryan Strome because of his age and how cheap he will be for a few years. Nylander was on pace for 30 points playing only 11-12 mpg on the 4th line. Now he's up on the 2nd line with Strome and Kane and looks pretty good. Look for him to take a big step next season. 45 wish points wouldn't surprise me at all. He might not ever be that elite 1st liner he was drafted to be, but I would bet he can still be a solid middle 6 player for us in the future. And really, that's all Strome is just 5 years older and going to cost 4-5 mil per year more in the short term</div></div>
One game samplesize... Also the Rangers dont need a winger. They would rather try to upgrade their C position or LHD than get another winger

They wont trade for a rental. Especially not for Saad without retained salery. In my opinion Andersson=Nylander in terms of value

Nylander has almost no trade value IMO. And why should SJ give up a first for Saad? He has only 1 year remaining and is more like a rental. SJ wont spent on rentals

Not sure, but 7 Mio is way too high. His advanced stats look not that great, he is more a high end 3rd line center (similar to Strome)

No way the Rangers will give up a first. They would rather convince Lundqvist to retire and pay the 1 year 4.5 Mio cap hit than giving up a first. And they won't need more than 4 Mio additional cap space.

Strome has arbitration rights. The Jets could get a one year 5 Mil. deal through an arbitrator. Maybe Strome considers a 1 year contract as well because he will be an UFA next year

Could This Draft Day Trade Work
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>Call me when Ovi says racist homophobic things to an while barratting a US player for being an American
Truth be told if Tony D played wiith Oveckin i think it wouldnt be long before Ovi would demand Tony's traded
Tony D did to Goldobin leading to him eventually being traded for left overs because there was so little demand and zero teams were willing to move a 1st for him .
if it only happened once sure but it was an ongoing problem and the league saw fit to suspend him 8 games after his 2nd time in 2014 being a loud racist POS towards his teammates. with the numbers Tony D put up in Junior as a D he shoulda been a lock for top 10 and an argument for top 5 but no teams were willing to risk he wouldnt become a problem .
you can be political without being an arse about it
Tony D still hasnt grown up and realized that and honestly i think its just the way he was raised</div></div>
It is very clear that DeAngelo has a lot of off-ice problems. I donßt want to compare his attitude and stuff with Ovechkin. But it seems like for some players it is no problem when they activly support political leaders who murder their opponents, and for some other players that matters. What DeAngelo has done is not ok, but as I said before guys like Malkin or Ovechkin are never in any sorts of discussion because of their political interests.

Kreider signing rumor
As much as I love Keider. But do we really want to sign a powerforward almost 7 Million until he is 35? We should learn from history. Right now we can laugh about the Islanders and how bad Lee´s contract could be in 2-3 years. Do we want to enter our cup window with a big contract from an aging player when we need to sign all prospects after their ELC.

I don´t think we trade Buch now, he just starts to get going and his value is still low. If he can improve his play I could see a trade at the draft, maybe to move up in the Top 5? And I belive they keep Strome and will only trade him if they get an overwhelming return.
