Trade For Cole Sillinger Because Of Ex Tate
There isn’t a planet that exists that the Avs do that harebrained trade. Kuzmenko sucks ass, Tanev isn’t any better than Girard and COL is kicking in a 1st and top C prospect and a former 1st rd pick still on his elc? Dumb would be insulted if I called the trade dumb.

One of the easiest 'nopes' the Avs will ever have to give.

wtf is that Byram trade, kid is worth at least 2 1st rd picks not a collection of bottom 6ers retreads and secondary picks and then massively overpaying for Mittlestadt. You do mix it up I’ll give you that but that Byram trade is one of the worst that I’ve seen, they literally turned down a recent top 6 pick for Byram, try convincing somebody to trade that package for a top 6 pick.

Lindholm and Tanev
This is a major overpay for Colorado.
LOC is extremely valuable to Colorado. Virtually untouchable.
Byram is a top 4 guy who is young with a huge pedigree. His value is pretty well documented here.
Cal Ritchie is the Avs #1 prospect now and is at like… 2 pts per game in the OHL since returning from his injury.
In return, the Avs get 3 rentals and a call up guy. Including Greer, who has bad blood with Colorado.
There’s really nothing in this that works.

IKR? This is the kind of trade you make at the very end of a Cup window on a last hurrah. If they made this trade, it would definitely be a last hurrah and waste about 5-8 more chances at a Cup.

Lindholm and Tanev
This is so awful for COL, 2 pending UFA’s, for a cost controlled stud 22yr old d, a C prospect killing it in juniors, a 1st rd pick, and oh yeah a stud pk winger on a $1M contract who has 4 MORE goals than Lindholm. This is beyond stupid for COL. And then you literally add into the trade a guy COL drafted, that he had one of the more epic meltdowns in AHL history and COL nontendered him. So bad for COL.

Rumors deadline
This is an embarrassing trade that doesn’t get considered for a second by Colorado. But let’s play pretend:
Kovalenko is a star in the KHL and his dad is a high up in the Russian federation. Something like that.
We weren’t even confident he would ever come over the NHL and we had to get him to burn an ELC year to do so.
Can you imagine the blowback if you trade that dude before he steps foot in Denver? He may not even report to Montreal and the Avs just ruined all credibility with their Russian pipeline for years.
Kovalenko basically has an NMC at this point.

Rumors deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LittleBuddha</b></div><div>Rumors - NO. Wishful thinking - YES. Avs have been waiting patiently waiting for Kova's KHL contract to end to bring him over for a couple years now, even signing him early (burning a year of ELC) just to be able to have him here at the end of the season. SM is not an elite talent,. He is not a clear up grade for the Avs at C and will not command that type of return. A 1st is pushing it for SM, he will net you all a 2nd and a good prospect. We only gave up a 2nd and a B prospect (Barron) when we got Lehky from them. Lehky >>>>Mony. The package you are suggesting here is a Lindholm type offer (and there would be a large chunk of the Avs nation that would be P.O. about losing Kova for him as a rental) not Mony, Nice thought. Try again.</div></div>
Have you ever seen a trade deadline before. Monahan will fetch a 1st + prospect minimum.

Some other ideas I have explored recently
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensonfire</b></div><div>I thought Georgiev did what he could.
Unfortunately, he was only good enough to win 3 games for the Avs against Seattle instead of 4.
It is what it is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And given that you can only play 1 goalie at a time and that Francouz never saw playoff action against Seattle, that makes Francouz expendable.
It's not that hard to figure out.</div></div>
Except you're having a hard time figuring out that a back up like Frankie isn't expendable when you're competing......but then you're a Sens fan so what can I say!?!

Yeah, this is the reason they spend that money. Also, let's not forget the bubble run where we tried to ride Michael Hutchinson to a cup......cheap backups always bite you in the butt.

To the limit
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LittleBuddha</b></div><div>I don't think that they are going to improve the roster at this point, only give it depth. I figured on one of Patrick or Bailey falling on their face. I think of Bear more as a two way, but ok. Bear just provides depth while getting a "loan" on the cap. They can keep one more waiver eligible player on the roster longer to see what they got.</div></div>
I really don't have anything against bear, but i feel like carolina or especially vancouver would have kept him if he could really make an impact. He's pretty much been trending downwards since his first contract and coming in mid season off an injury is never easy to get up to speed. I think there are better options through trade that would become available closer to deadline. We have 7 d in the lineup currently so i'm sure the gm will let the season go on to see who looks good to fill JJ's full time spot
