I have always enjoyed how MTL has one of the only fan bases that think that the other team needs to pay for their cap dump. That Col trade is ridiculous. A cap dump, a guy that didn't do well in the O and was horrid in the A, and a late 2nd does not net you a 1st rd pick

We got Eller and Johnson. What are you talking about. That is not how it works with the Avs and their front office. The Avs have to be hard pressed to move a 1st as in we have no goalie. Anderson doesn't move the needle for the Avs

Anderson is your cap nightmare. Avs don't need or want anything to do with it. On top of that the Avs needs a center, not a winger in the middle six.

The Avs are not going to trade Bo for a rental. And if he would sign an 8x6, he'd do it with the team he won the cup with. You would have a better chance of making an offer for Toews. Rental for rental. Not a 21 yo RFA.

I'm good with Kadz staying right where he's at. Anyone paying attention knew that he was most likely not going to sustain what he did last year. His normal production is not worth 7 mil for another 6 years. Cause odds are that he will not improve but decline going forward. One of the best moves CMac made this last Summer. Not giving into what he wanted and letting him walk. Thank you to Kadri for helping us Avs faithful to another Cup, but he is a whinner.

You obviously do not understand the Avs system. Everything they do is rooted in the backend. They are a transition team. Not a cycle team were the depth of forwards is more important. The Avs 3rd and 4th lines are checking lines. You are suggesting that they abandon how they play. The depth I'm talking about is the ability to have a puck mover like G go down in the second round and have that "extra" guy slot in were it counts in their system. If you actually followed the Avs you would also realize that Byram was arguably the best Defender we had in the cup final, even over our beloved Norris winner.

So who is AB going to replace in the Avs top 6? Not Landy. Not Rants. Not Nuke. That leaves Lehky. Probably not since he not only is younger, similar numbers but still better, and helped us win a cup. I'm not seeing that happen. AB is not a C so that rules out MacK and JT. So at this point, AB as a 28 yr old 3rd line winger is not worth a 21 yr old top 4 D, sorry... on your team a top pair. Just because the avs have 5 skaters that are legit top pair D men in this league does not mean they will give one away for something that they dont need. Its called depth and it is why the Avs are still in contention for the division title even with the insane amount of injuries they have had this year.

You are missing the first round pick for DT, Bust-berg isn't going to cut it for a top pair D. Let alone the up grading your 5th to a 3rd. I got a counter offer how about Newhook and a 2 for Drai? No? But he was a 1st rounder... The point is Newhook isn't jumping into your 2c slot like Blows-berg is slotting next to Makar.

Ummm.... Guys, not that I don't totally agree with you two, but the trade is for Brock. Which I think makes even less sense for the Avs, but they have Brock going to Washington also. First pick one team only to trade a player to and then we all can tell you what we think. And in this case, it is not helpful with both teams. And, no Bo doesn't work if that is who you really wanted to trade.

Try dropping Hook. But I could see the 24 1st for Toews with the 4th going to another team for double retention with the actual cash value being so low.

(4) Bednar said today that Nichushkin & Kaut are injured -- MacKinnon will be back before them, maybe as early as later this week.
(5) Even if all 13 forwards you have listed were available, Cogliano, who you don't even have playing, is absolutely in the lineup over any of the players you listed in the 4th line.

Since you took the time to make this, I'll take the time to point out a few flaws in your plan. First, Hook isn't ready for 2c let alone 1c. He is right now a decent middle 6 LWer. Probably ready for 3c. Rants, ERod, and Jt are all better Cs right now than Hook. I'm not talking potential/skill. I'm pointing out current ability. Next, Mikko is 7-1in games right now at 1C and has double the points of anyone else on the team other than our real 1c. Not only replace him with Hook (at a whooping .38PPG), you want to put him in a position, the LW, he has NEVER played in his professional career (including his stint in the AHL).Then you are moving the 2nd best currently healthy forward, Nuke, to the third line in his least effective position the on L side. Lets look to the backend. You broke up on of the best pairs in the league to put two puck movers together and two two-way support D together bogging up our whole D-system. I can go on but those are the highlights. Opps didnt know Nuke was injured. Still not a good move.

So basically, the Avs before this trade had one hole in their line-up when healthy at 2c that really could use an up grade. Then you take both our current 2nd C and our 3rd C and give us an amazing top six 6 winger. But wait.. we have 4 of them already... Landy, Rants, Nuke, and Lehky. TM is not going to replace the first 3 on that list, but is a step up on number 4, so 62 goes to the 3rd line on wing. So what are we going to do about the three holes you created (2/3Cs and a top 4 Dman in BB)? This makes us WAAYYYY better. Sign me up. That doesn't even start with how are the avs going to sign him next year with that QO? They would have to give up another roster player next year to do it. In the end, losing 4 roster players for a 0.12 % increase in P/pg as a 2nd line W. Not great asset management. The point of the TDL for teams that are contenders is to get BETTER and INCREASE the chance of raising the cup, not sell out their depth.

This Avs fan likes it. Let us get something out of a late 1st cause they can't seem to develop anyone past the 16OA and they are 50/50 there. Not that there isn't the talent, just they will never see the ice long enough to shine. If they move Toews out over the summer to maximize return, plus with the cap going up more than expected, with SB playing lights out at DU and/or New Z ready to make the jump... That is a heavy 2nd line.

Not interested in that again</div></div>
All very valid points. And the very same reasons that this will be JTs last year with the A crest. I haven't seen alot of Kerf in the last few years. His numbers overall are not amazing but not crap. I know skill wise when he was here was and still is better and more consistent than the anyone else on the once hopeful 2nd line of Kerf Jost Jt. I have had to deal with JTC at 1C in a pinch. I don't want either of them anywhere near the top 6. At full price no not good for the avs. But they were looking at Gally for only half of what is here. When was the last time an Avs 4th became anything? The Kadri trade is important because it defines on how they left the avs. Xnumber 9, he who shall be shamed, will never come back. We all know why. No drama here, unless there is some Bednar thing. I ve seen Beds bench so many people, game to game. Kerf, Jost , JT, LOC, Hook... Now if its Beds is every night giving him 5-8 mins like Kaut you know he is in trouble. I liked Kerf. Not very physical but good positioning most of the time. Good stick work but couldn't finish to save his life. Hence finishers. He can pass it to the right people. Realistic, the Avs are done until at least Nov/Dec

As you can see in the roster I know he is a Lw, We both know that the Avs have played him at 2C. He not is a 2c any more than JT is. But,I don't see him as a passenger player. I have never heard Bednar state that he has some issue, but if you are in the know... ok. And is a fantasy roster.
