<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Lol, who tf is a better RD on their team? Idk how you can say a team that is 7-1 is bad, any team with any other logo and you wouldnt question that record. Weird how 1 line teams like Boston and Colorado can succeed but Edmonton (who has easily the best player in the league) can't. Ill believe they will crash and burn when I see it, and thays coming from a Calgary fan who cant stand the Oilers.</div></div>

Edmonton has been outshot in all but 2 of there games. Their bottom 3 lines are getting out shot, out chanced and outplayed by a wide margin. The only reason they are 7-1 is because their goaltending has been excellent and McDavid is scoring 3 points a game. Look what happens when you keep McDavid off the board? The team lost 1-0 in a shootout. Eventually, both Smith and Koskinen will come back down to earth and I expect both will end up with a save percentage below 910. That alone will result in a goal or more against a game. This team is going to lose a lot of games where McDavid has 2 points and dominates when on the ice but the other 3 lines will allow a goal each without scoring any and then you'll see 3-2 losses.

As for defence. Just because a guy is the best RHD on a team it doesn't mean all that much if there are zero good rhd on the team. Larsson was forced to go against top competition last season when Klefbom got hurt and he was terrible. Notice the team doesn't seem to notice Larsson currently, he is nothing special and never has been.

Edmonton is the top team in the NHL that will regress, they aren't playing well but have had results. Best case scenario for this franchise, is Holland sees this as well. If he doesn't more mistakes are going to be made and the future will be even more bleak.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Neal doesn't even play with McDavid except on the PP. He has scored 2 goals + 1 assist in 7 games at 5v5 with RNH, that's a 23 goal / 35 point pace. Only 12 players scored more than 23 goals at 5v5 last year, Neal would be tied for 13th with Gaudreau, MacKinnon, Matthews and Tyler Johnson. That's decent company.

So no, Holland shouldn't be throwing him out for nothing right now.</div></div>

Its been what 7 games? Neal is much better than Lucic, but still he's an aging vet that just isn't going to get better. I think over a full season, he'll end up with 25 goals and around 40 points. But he's not really anything more than a 3rd liner at this stage of his career. If you can get out from the rest of his contract, which is still terrible, you'd think that would be a priority considering having 5 million of dead cap space is terrible in this day and age.

But fans like to get excited when teams overachieve and then think things are a lot better than they actually are. Look at last night for example. Over 50 shots against and it was the 7th time in 8 games in which Edmonton has been outshot, was far behind in all advanced stats and again McDavid was the difference. McDavid has an off night, which will happen every now and again and Edmonton will almost for sure be shutout. Over the course of an 82 game series, its very unlikely you can make the playoffs when you give up way more shots and scoring chances than you create. Currently Edmonton's 3rd and 4th lines are getting destroy but lucky. Its not going to last.
