building on this playoff win
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>This all looks very reasonable to me. I would much rather use that Sundqvist money on bringing back Acciari if we can. I would also love to bring back Bunting if possible.
Either way their team looks good for next year. I am excited to see Robertson get a proper shot. I assume they will start the year with him having a top 9 role. It will probably be his last shot with the Leafs.</div></div>
I really like acciari, wouldn't mind him returning. Personally, I'm partial to ZAR and Kampf as i really love them in this team, and since Lafferty is signed for another year those 3 (in my mind) round out the fourth line/depth spots. If we were to bring in another jarnkrok type (which i would love to see, I think sundqvist would really work out here) it takes another spot in the top 9. and then as you mentioned robertson (hopefully he can stay healthy) and with holmberg and abruzzese overripened for a roster spot I hate the idea of them not being on next years 23 man roster.

building on this playoff win
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jco5ta5</b></div><div>I don’t see the Hawks doing this. I think they want to bring up Arvid Soderblom full time to back up Mrazek.
Unless they buy out Mrazek, then I’d say they might do it but I haven’t heard of any buyout reports.
I think it also depends on Boston. That pick could be #24 if they lose tonight or it’s #32 if they win SC. If they lose tonight then the trade up is going to be 20 spots. That might be enough to entice the trade and then maybe even flip Murray again?</div></div>
thank you for the insight. I forgot about Soderblom and his potential to start the year with the hawks.
Murray had a decent year with the leafs, definitely much better than mrazek, but not better than samsonov and not a good bang for buck. I suppose buying out the last year of mrazek would be (hypothetically) a smart move since y'all won't spend to the cap anyway, that way putting forth a low floor/high ceiling tandem that (would hopefully) play with the success (or lack thereof) the team.
I traded the pick assuming it would be a second round exit adjacent draft pick, so i think the 15~ spot upgrade territory is about as valuable as it would take, maybe more.
you may be the most polite user I've ever seen in a CF ACGM comment section btw. hats off.

Next Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>As soon as I saw Järnkrök on the 1st line, I said no..... I live the guy. He is the 3rd line Swiss Army knife, and you play him as such.
Schenn isn't worth a $2 million contract, as good as he has been. For $1 million I would sign him in a heart beat. Fabulous depth option and certainlyballows for better workload management throughout the year.
Timmins will figure heavily into the plans next year - his game is similar to Giordano's...... expect a mentorship there.
I don't brink back Kerfoot, although he is effective. I actually think you maybe light in that contract. CP people vilify him, but he is an awefully good 200 foot player. See than around $2.5-3 million to be honest.
Robertson will not male this team. He is topn6 or bust, and the injuries have derailed his development.
ROR at $5 million is possible, but I see him taking less to stay if he really wants to stay. And at 5 years that may look like Marleau 2.0...... less money for term.</div></div>
Jarnkrok plays very well with matthews and marner. his whole career he's been that swiss army knife player but hasn't played with many talented scorers or high scoring teams - I think we saw this season he can be a scorer and that those skills were hidden. I hope he starts next season in the top 6 at LW. reminds me of what hyman did for those lines and I never once wanted to see him in the bottom 6.

I've heard from Avs fans that Girard is bound to be moved in 2023-2024, and that Compher will be moved before the end of this contract or allowed to walk at the end of it. If that combined freed up 9m isn't enough for the extension money for MacKinnon, Newhook, and Byram, then you can very comfortably move one of Burakovsky/Lehkonen/Nichushkin/Paul for the rest.

Tavares had some of his best years in NYI with power forwards on his wings like Nelson, Lee, and Okposo.

No leaf would want to play with Perry after the Tavares hit. (not that I personally think it was intentional) Other than that this is pretty reasonable.

they're just placeholders for cap logistics. You have to have a 23 man roster, and every guys gotta make at least 750k per league min salary. so if you fill up all the open space with placeholders making min, the cap space you get is the true number of cap space you have to upgrade the team.

Mikheyev, Engvall, Kerfoot, are a big reason for the Leafs success. While I agree Larsson would be much better anywhere else and not in the number 2 d man role, he isn't as much of an upgrade over Holl as you may think. Holl is fine. And for 3 M less I will take him.
Leafs will be counting on having a few veterans taking discounts to play in Toronto next year yet again. Robertson has shown zero reason why he is ready for a top 6 role. I hope he can continue to develop but he is not ready.</div></div>
lmao. I like every guy on the leafs, including Mikheyev, Engvall, and Kerfoot. I watch every game, trading them away on an ACGM is just business. Get off your high horse.

Hyman, Galchenyuk, and Spezza can all climb the lineup and fix that. Malgin and Robertson should as well if they are good as expected.
