Pretty much every major trade here IMO is heavily skewed against the Pens.

Rust isn't moving. His contract isn't something a buying team would be interested in, but he's a genuine top 6 forward, making that trade horrendous asset management.

Guentzel's worth is the Bo Horvat return at the bare minimum. I think Teravainen is similar in value to Rust/Rakell.

I don't think Dakota Joshua is worth a 3rd, let alone a 3rd and a young puck moving defenseman like Joseph. IMO the 3rd should be going the other way, but moving both POJ <em>and</em> Smith is counterproductive.

I'd rather have Petry than Roy or Mayfield (and I think Mayfield is going to get a decent but more than that).

I'd love to have Niederreiter, but that's giving up some of our better prospects for him. He got flipped to the Jets for a 2nd. I'd rather flip the pick.

Graves, Mayfield and Compher probably get more, and I do not want Drouin or Korpisalo on the Pens next year.

Pit says no to both trades… they don’t make sense for our current roster and don’t improve us in the areas we’re struggling in
