Your valuation is more reasonable than others I’ve seen but I still would rather LA keep Vilardi. Also I don’t see this trade as a foregone conclusion. If he sticks with 9 mil per season, I would pass. They should go for a bottom six power forward instead.

I’d rather hold out for Byfield to improve. He made the first line better in the second half and has a much higher ceiling than PLD.

I am in complete agreement. I have to ask why there seems to be so much smoke behind the PLD rumors. I think it’s an awful fit and I think we’ll be back to being a rebuilding team in a few years if we push all in on this guy and it fails. He doesn’t like anywhere he’s played and his production is not that impressive for what everyone seems to think he’s going to make.

I’m wondering if a Kings fan can explain to me why we’re interested in PLD. Is his ceiling higher than his past production? If not, I’m not seeing the benefit in throwing so many assets at a guy who’s never been happy with his situation and is expecting to be paid like a 1C. I personally hope they don’t pull the trigger.

I don’t see LA doing this. They would pay more at the trade deadline for a rental of Arvidsson’s skill set. I don’t know if a 2nd at this point is bad valuation, but it doesn’t make sense when they’re looking to advance in the playoffs. Just my opinion, but I would probably pass as a Kings fan.

I think it’s likely we trade Kupari and/or Anderson-Dolan away to make room for Byfield at 2C or 3C next season. Then we can give Turcotte extended looks at LW or C with the club too. It’s too bad he keeps getting injured, but they still have another season where they don’t need to worry about waivers.
