SJ if they Finish the Offseason with Signing Marchment after Reupping Barabanov
This is what I would do as well. Marchment is the best, hopefully untapped top 6 forward, UFA available that the Sharks could reasonably afford to sign for more than 1 year. His ties to SJ are a plus.
I’d like to move on from Nieto and keep Leonard in his place but that’s small potatoes

Sharks Roster for Next Season Taking Shape
I hate trading Dahlen because his underlying numbers are actually really good however, I understand the LW logjam needs to break somewhere. I love Mason Marchment and hope he comes over in UFA. I'd move him to RW though and put him second line while moving Labanc to 3rd.
I'd be surprised if the Sharks draft pick makes the NHL right away unless they win the draft lottery as well.
Pretty on board with this lineup for the most part. The key is getting a coach willing who gives rookies an actual chance and doesn't stifle creativity.

What line combinations I want to see for the rest of the season
Sharks are never going to sit Bonino. Bob will never play this many rookies. Who will he play when he benches them all in the second period?
In all seriousness, there is no way Bords gets called up this season. I think the game plan should be to give select young guys (Merkley, Dahlen, Chemelevski, Balcers, Reedy) ice time to build on for next season and prop up some players that you want to move in the offseason. Simek, Nieto, Bonino, Labanc are all candidates to get traded if they can find a buyer.

Getting Creative
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Waffelz</b></div><div>I don't think Ferraro, Barabonov, or Dahlen get that much. Signing Mason Marchment means you won't be able to extend Timo Meier when his contract expires the year after. The players on your taxi squad are actually scratches, so they should count against the cap.</div></div>
I don't really care where the trades go or if the Sharks get anything for these guys. I believe Labanc, Reimer, Simek, etc are all moveable without retaining or paying extra to move. If you think the signed guys get less then great. Also, the scratch vs taxi squad guys can be either sent to the AHL or not re-signed. They are not that important.
I like Marchment and think he will be worth that money but if he can be had for less then i'm all for it.

Keeping It As Cheap As Possible
Kahkonnen get's no more than 2.25 mil cap hit. Ferraro is likely going to get no less than 4 mil. Dahlen is a question mark for sure. I think Reimer can be moved without retaining salary and still get at least a 5th. I'd also move Simek. If the Sharks are just doing everything to shed cap space, trade Labanc and Hill as well. Call up a cheaper back up goalie.

Sharks Acquire Sam Reinhart
Reinhart is a pending RFA who is likely looking to get out of Buffalo. That means he is going to be hard for Buffalo to sign. I doubt acquiring him costs a 1st or any blue chip prospects.

Ya, I wasn't sure on value on Ros. He isn't playing though and it isn't like he was a world beater. I'd be totally fine with Sharks paying more for Ros. I was just thinking more about who Sharks should move and who Sharks should target.

From an outside perspective it looks like Buffalo is not high on Tage. He hasn't been real good this year so far either. I'm not super familiar with Buffalo's needs though.

Dubois I dunno
I'd rather send out Couture for Dubois. Hertl seems to drive his line. Couture, not so much. Maybe Sharks can get a prospect or Jenner in that deal. Also, sending a center for a center doesn't really help the team much. Sharks find themselves in the same bad situation they are in whether it Dubois replaces Hertl or Couture.

I admit my initial trade offer is leaning homer, I think Jumbo gets a 1st and Marleau gets a 2nd if they both get traded. The likelyhood of them both going to the same team is low either way. I just want them to stay together so I can root for them. Either way, I suppose we will see their value at the deadline if they allow for a trade.

I think Tampa has two 1sts and pressure to not blow it in the playoffs. Two cap hit cheap, albeit old, future hall of famers to round out the depth should be worth quite a bit.

Gotta include all the retained salary though. That is worth something. I'll adjust the picks a bit and see where I land.

With Couture on LTIR, Sharks have plenty of cap room and could easily take on Ceci.

EK65 and Pavs
Chartier, and Gambrell can get whatever they want as they are going to be sent down to the AHL. Ryan is a sign and trade so that also doesn't matter too much. If you don't like what Heed is getting even though he hasn't even played 40 NHL games, then let him go and move up Roy or Middlefeild. I think we can get Pavs for a little less if we give him term. Also we could not sign Jumbo and give that million to Pass. Obviously on the open market I think he gets over 6mil. This is just to illustrate it is doable to keep both EK65 and Pavs.

ya have fun trying to sign tavares SJ
Demelo is gone and Jumbo is overpaid. They have plenty of young players on entry deals that could fill the bottom 6 holes. Pavelski either gets traded or takes a pay cut at 34 years old. Tons of room for Tavares.

Sharks can't offer Tavares an 8 year deal. Reportedly the Isles are offering over 10 mil with the 8 years. Sharks would likely need to pony up 11mil or more for the max 7 year deal.

New Sharks Who Dis?
There are guys the sharks could call up in case of injury. Next year would definitely be an issue but You gotta pay the price to have that #1 center. I would say next year sharks sign Couture and let Pavelski walk if you can't fit him. He is older and slower than the league is trending.
