Fair enough! But it's not fair to say I made that up then. The whole scenario of this trade is very doubtful and will forever be a dream of a Bruins fan. I get that.

I'm not trying to insult anyone around here and I respect the Buffalo Sabres organisation. But over the last couple of months I read many articles about players demanding trades out of Buffalo. Bogosian and Rodrigues are two names and Eichel does not seem to be happy either...

Lol I understand your demand. I really do! But the fact is, everyone on this Boston team LOVES to play here, especially Pastrnak. You can't say the same thing about Buffalo players (and Eichel)... That does not improve your position in this (fictional) trade talks...

There is only one reason I see Boston make a big offer for Eichel: He is a hometown boy and the management seems to love them (Wags, Grizz, Coyle etc.). Also, the Bruins need a post-Bergeron Center. With a Center like Eichel the future is bright, I would put McAvoy and two 1st round picks on the table!
Obviously many of you got some points right... The Bruins might not have the resources to make this work...

Your NHL Career
Age: 23
Team: Boston Bruins
Number: 23
Position: Left handed RW; 2nd line with Krejci and DeBrusk
Salary: 3,75M RFA for 2 more years
After that I would sign a long term, team friendly contract. 5.75M x 8 years.
Retire as a Bruin when the time is right.

Well that's ridiculous... I think Karlsson will face reality this offseason (max. 9M) and so will Krug next year. I love Krug and don't want him to leave, but 7-7.5M is his value, everthing above is to much.
The most ridiculous thing about Karlsson (and Krug?) is that they want 7-8 year deals... Thank you, but no thank you. They are not worth it. Both are smaller guys and not free from injuries.

Love him. But this summer is the last opportunity to get something in return for him. Next summer he is a UFA an probably asks for 6.5-8M a year. Bruins can't afford that.

Gusev signed an ELC for the 18/19 season. He is a RFA this summer. I offered Heinen and Zboril for him.
I'm perfectly fine with your opinion btw, but I say Gusev will do very well in the NHL!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>Don't give a crap what someone does in the KHL. Kovy was over a P/GP player in the KHL as well...he didn't have a great year when he came back.
Here's another reason I don't put much into KHL number.
Nigel Dawes ranks 2nd in the KHL in points, yet in the NHL he was bounced between the AHL and NHL for 5-6 years
Grigorenko ranks 10th in KHL scoring (just shy of a p/gp player) and he was awful in the NHL.
How about Shipachyov, who is 3rd in scoring. He came over, played 3 games and left. Vegas even let him and his agent talk to teams about a trade and no one wanted him.
And yea the kid is a scratch ticket because you have no idea what your going to get from him. Could be a loser or could hit the jackpot.</div></div>
Well I give you the credit for doing some research and bringing up examples!
To be fair, Kovalchuk is 35 years old and on a bad team, plus has the league become very fast. Too fast for Kovalchuk!
Dawes and Shipachyov are over 30 as well, and in a slower league on a good team they perform very well. For Grigorenko it didn't work out in North America, fair enough!
But Gusev is 26 years old! Give him some time and he will adjust, my opinion! Of course I don't know anything about his personal stuff... Is he "ready" to leave Russia? Language issues? Cultural differences?
Offtopic-sentence: I'm a European as well, I speak 4 languages... Some of the North American hockey players that come here have cultural/language issues as well and don't perform sufficient. However, most of us Europeans speak more than ONE language, not sure if Americans are that silver-tongued....

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>If you believe the bolded then doesn't it make more sense to get a bonafide #2RW vs a scratch ticket in Gusev. Better yet, while playing on the top line during the regular season Heinen was nearly a P/GP player. You also have Bjork (who Bergy is a big fan of) and Senyshyn who are in the system.
As for who else you could trade for...
Tyler Toffoli since 2016 ranks 36th in scoring among RW's. Is he the missing piece? I don't think so, but he's an option and has produced like a #2RW the last 3 years. He's owed $4.6 million next season and then he's a UFA. If LAK is looking to rebuild then maybe he's an option...or maybe you go after a guy like Kovy and see what it would take.</div></div>
Scratch ticket? Gusev is a P/GP player in the KHL... The last 3 seasons he was well over a P/GP. I know KHL hockey isn't NHL hockey, but Gusev is a skilled guy! Even if he doesn't join Boston, I bet he'll prove you wrong next season! I think he is NHL material! I say he will score 50 pts in 80 games!
About Heinen... Yes he had over 40 pts last season and 34 this year. He has a solid 200ft game and he just isn't a highlight-reel player. But I don't know, sometimes he looks so bad. I don't see him being a consistent NHL player. Don't like his shot as well...
I'm not a big fan of Toffoli tbh. He would be a cheap tdl aquisition, just like Johansson was this year... I don't like this trades so much... Maybe it's just me...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>A lot of his inconsistency is because Boston uses him with so many different linemates. He's played on every single line this year and had at least over a dozen different linemates. Gusev is a massive unknown who could be anything from HOFer to couldn't make it. With Heinen you know at worst you have a 40pt winger that plays a smart 200ft game and again that's at worst. Kids only 23yrs old and still developing.
Heinen at age 22/23 - 154 GP / 81 Pts
Marchy at age 22/23 - 153 GP / 96 Pts
Is Heinen going to be Marchand? probably not, but it just goes to show that players that young are not even close to being fully developed into the player they'll become.</div></div>
I get your point of view and I don't say your wrong... Your'e probably right. The thing is: Bergeron is 33 years old, I say the window for Boston is closing in 1-2 years... The Bruins need to take some risks! There are 5/6 perfect top 6 players in Boston, one part is missing, the 2nd line RW.
I say if Vegas accepts this offer, take it and run as far as you can! What are the other options?
-Sign Panarin for ~10M
-Simmonds, Ferland? No thank you
-Eberle? I like him but he probably asks for ~6M?!
-Trading for someone else... Whom? To which price?
I say there are other options than Gusev, but I have the feeling he could be the best one... Vegas resigned Tuch, Stone, Pacioretty, Schmidt and has to resign W. Karlsson, too... Maybe they want him to leave...

He could be the next Panarin or he could be just another Russian who comes to the NHL, fails and bolts. Seems like this scenario you're banking on him being a stud NHLer. Both scenarios are possible, especially since he hasn't played a sniff here. If you're giving up all these assets, I'd hope its for more of a sure thing.</div></div>
I say sometimes you need to risk something... If it costs us Heinen and Zboril, I would take the risk. If it costs us more, no thank you!
Important are also the terms of Gusev's contract... 4Mx2 is a good deal, it doesn't ruin Boston's future if it doesn't work out. That's my opinion...

Heinen is very inconsistent and no top 6 material. He has his moments, but he isn't untouchable in Boston. Gusev did amazing things in Russia, he could become a 2nd Panarin! Gusev would fix the weak point of this Boston team. Krejci and DeBrusk played with 10+ guys this season...
