Zero cap space anyway. Every move they make has to be cap neutral or cap positive.</div></div>
Add Grz. Swap a couple people to make cap work.

Value is way under in EDM trade.
MIN trade doesnt make much sense for PIT.
Doubt we can get out of that Graves contract right now.
Chad deal looks fine.
Dont see the value for VGK.
Not a fan of the ANA trade at all.
If we can actually trade Carter, sure.

Value seems fair on both guys. I do think that if there is a bidding war for Ned, he gets a bit more, but these make sense for sure.

He was only mentioned for cap. I do think Fabbri makes a lot more sense as the roster player coming back.

I would be shocked if Pens accepted that. They can do much better for a PPG player.

If we sell Jake
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>Not that i think the price is bad, I just don't think Detroit will be in the market for Guentzel as we cannot afford his extension. Even if we send Fabbri, we would still need to clear another 4+ to make it work and that means making our team worse in another area.
We need to spend that money in other areas of need.
Also, we currently have the 5th best offense in the league, and although any team would greatly benefit from adding him, the benefit wouldn't hide the fact that we are weak in many other areas.
Our main concern should be adding on the back end and hopefully in the offseason so we don't spend assets doing so.
We would also benefit from defensively responsible forwards who are physical.</div></div>
That makes sense. I guess with Seider & Raymond extensions incoming, you guys need to be prudent about splashing the cash.

GOING BIG
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>IDK That BOS has anything of value to return though that the penguins would want...
BUF/DET/NSH definitely probably have pieces, but like you say I don't see them as buyers (specially not BUF).
I fully think the plan for Dubas will be see what happens the next few games, if they're playing better *maybe* a small depth option(s). If not then I could see him attempting to sell some things (Maybe Jake, Ned, Chad, Eller if someone is really in need of a C and then Smith if he can figure something out).
He will try and clear out some additional space to retool in the summer.</div></div>
Just made a new ACGM with ideas. I do think the best option moving forward is to trade Jake for younger pieces that can still help us contend in the near future.

GOING BIG
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>*IF* the penguins sell they won't move Pettersson unless they get some ungodly offer.
My whole point behind the Rags comment is that they are not going to trade Jake to one of the Penguins biggest/most dislike rivals and if they would they would absolutely make them over pay. (Example lets say Jake's value is a 1st and A prospect, they'd tell NYR 2 1sts + and A prospect or something).
I did make an ACGM sending Jake to EDM just cause I sort of think it's likely but my two (maybe three) preferred would be as follows:
Option 1
To WPG = Jake at 50%
To PIT = 2025 1st and Cole Perfetti
Option 2
To VAN = Jake at 50%
To PIT = 2025 1st, Nils Hoglander, Podkolzin</div></div>
Hard to see WPG doing that. I feel like they would maybe want us to take back Schmidt so they can afford to re-sign Jake.
VAN trade is okay. Two players arent anything crazy to me.
BOS, BUF, DET & NSH are a couple teams that make sense to me.
BOS is obviously win now, the other 3 would be adding so they can start to compete asap.

GOING BIG
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>These are all pretty bad for the penguins.
For starters if they trade Pettersson it needs to be for a better return. Not a LD that's a year away from retirement and a 4th line forward.
Rangers aren't paying enough for Jake, that's an inner division rival, if they want Jake you make them pay basically double what someone in the western conf would.</div></div>
Pettersson is pretty much worth a 1st and Brisson in this deal. I guess you can add a 3rd so the return for Smith is 3rd + Howden and Martinez is in for cap.
NYR deal I could see it being a bit more, but most ppl making EDM deals is a 1st, another pick, and usually 2 of 3 between Broberg, Bourgault and Holloway. I am not interested in those guys at all. Idk what other west team makes sense/would go for it.

Chad value seems fair.
I think DAL priority is prob defense + they dont have the most cap, but I do think you are slightly underselling on Smith. I think a 3rd + little something is more fair. No need to send a 4th back.
Dont see where Broberg fits. I wouldnt take that deal.
Where did you see the KK thing. I originally made a KK+ for Jake deal a while back because it makes sense to me.
Dont think Hino carries any value.

GOING BIG
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jfkst1</b></div><div>Not necessarily more, just higher quality and less volume. Don't like any of the roster players coming back and would rather they target a more promising prospect with a minor throw in than the typical 1st+ volume throw in package. Obviously it takes another GM to make that happen, but I really don't like any of these deals.</div></div>
I know Kakko has underperformed, but I actually still believe in him. I would much rather him than any of EDM's prospects, for example. I doubt the Rangers move Perreault.
I would've added a bit more in VGK trade, but I dont know how highly to value Smith in this. I originally had Smith for Howden + 3rd, but removed the 3rd because we were getting Martinez back. 1st + Brisson for MP seems pretty fair.
I think we could maybe squeeze a 2nd for Ned, but I am thinking closer to a 3rd. Kaliyev is definitely someone I would take a chance on.

Dont think Eller/Acciari will be moved this season. The value probs isnt there right now.
Guentzel value is there. Really hope it is not EDM because I am not crazy about their prospects at all.
POJ/Chad value seems roughly right, could also see it being 6th/7th instead.
If COL wants to dump RyJo, I would take a chance.
I really like Kaliyev for Ned as the framework for a deal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howie</b></div><div>I think the jets would accept. Personally I'd try to lower the pick as iafallo isn't a cap dump and is a really positive middle 6 option and a great pker. Iafallo is the main piece in the trade and obviously schmidt would need to waive if needed but may become Pittsburgh seems to always be competitive. All in all trade makes sense just hope that the jets can find more value is all.</div></div>
That is fair. I do think Iafallo is still solid, but has just struggled with WPG. I do think the pick could be lowered to like a 4th or 5th. I was still giving WPG some good depth options in DOC & POJ.

Interesting. What makes you say that?
My POV was Maatta and Kostin pretty much make up the cap, and DET has replacements for both. Berggren and 3rd are decent value I would think for a player playing at a 66 point pace.
