<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>u cant compare a 4th liner to a 1st liner. I can tell your hockey logic is flawed as Dumo and Pet are 2 top 4 Dman. Malkin is a top 6 player and Doumelin is a bottom 6 which are completly different
Also penguins are in win now mode this year as per Burke things are changing next season Especially with Malkins contract being up.</div></div>
*Dumoulin, and he's a defenseman

Best Case
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>I watch them both and heres the thing. Pet is only 24, Doumelin is 29. Pet has had multiple 20 point seasons with the penguins, Doumelin had one 3 years ago.
Keeping an aging Dman who has been injury prone these last 2 seasons in order to lose a younger Dman who has shown he can play top 4 and has chemistry with Marino is pure insanity. Dumoulin only has 2 years left, Petterson has 3 and will be 27 at the deals end.
Would rather go younger than keep an aging guy as the penguins need to start the process of rebuilding soon as Crosby and Malkin aint getting any younger.</div></div>
So using that same logic, would you also protect Blueger over Malkin
Dumo is a way better player and Pens are in win now mode, so losing Dumo makes zero sense

Why would u move a 24 year old on a good contract to keep an aging Dman with only 2 years left. Penguins got to start planning for the future and honestly getting younger is not a bad thing.</div></div>
Dumo is a legit #2, giving him to Seattle would be insane
Pettersson isn't even half the player
Are you sure that you watch them both?

Bennett
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brgh4life</b></div><div>Bennett isn't worth it IMO. He had a rough year last year and isn't backing out. His even strength production this season matched Rodrigues, but Rodrigues has played 14 less games. He underlying numbers aren't great either. If we are going to spend a 3rd I'd like it to be on someone who isn't playing replacement level hockey.</div></div>
For a 2022 3rd it’s worth a chance
He’s still young and change of scenery trades have worked before
Playoff stats are really the main point to focus on

Bennett
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>I think the problem teams have in trading for Bennett is that he's a rental.
How do you put a fair offer on a rental 4th liner who isn't playing well. It's like a 5th or 6th.
As it stands right now his QO is $2,550,000. No team is going to hand him 2.6 million. At least no team with an intelligent GM. There in lies the problem with why CGY is gonna have a hard time moving him.</div></div>
If Lemieux goes for a 4th, he's worth a 3rd. Don't think the valuation on him is actually the hard part, it's more finding a fit

But Pettersson doesn't have much offense to offer and I would have liked a two-way D. Bruins would also need to find a top6 LW after that. How has Pettersson been this season?</div></div>
Like Debrusk, Pettersson has struggled this year
Not really a true offensive or defensive guy though, looked to be pacing towards a 30ish point two way #4 but has stalled out this season
Some of his issues might be the logjam at LD in Pittsburgh, he's getting different matchups this year playing behind Matheson/Dumo/POJ

Is trading him for a potential better fit running him out?

I can agree with this but the rumor is out there
In theory he would be the first up when injuries happen and/or if Kap doesn’t fit or Rust continues to struggle
Also put him on the second power play intentionally

Just makes me wonder why you want Roslovic so badly when he isn't worth anything according to you and you are willing to give up old players that hold such superior value to Pittsburgh.</div></div>
Absolutely bizarre comment
Definitely not the biggest Roslovic fan but there's a seemingly legitimate rumor out that Pittsburgh had interest so I was spitballing on a fair trade, if that upsets you I would recommend just ignoring it

Sceviour is a legitimate upgrade over guys like Appleton, Lewis, Thompson getting minutes in the Jets bottom 6 so no idea where the waiver wire comment comes from
An equally skilled defenseman would be someone like Riikola, who I mentioned before. Winger that can't crack the top 6 for defenseman that can't crack the top 4
