trading Nylander
If Nylander came with an extension in the range of 8.5-9 million with 5-6 years of Term the Jets might take them up on that, Nylander has played center in the past. Rather then role the dice on resigning Ehlers in a couple years.

Clear the logjam
How so, Van needs to clear cap when Pearson comes off LTIR. Sure they'd like to move Garland/Myers instead but that's not going to happen without paying/retaining 45-50 point winger 5M and a bottom pairing D being paid 6M per season.
Trades of Note outside of Proverov, Dubois, Debrincat and Karlson
Petry top four defensman 2.3M cap hit = 4th round pick & depth defensman
Joel Edmonson top four D 1.75 M cap hit = 3rd & 4th round pick
Tefolli top six winger 4.75M cap hit = 3rd round pick & depth prospect
Taylor Hall 6M cap hit = depth defensman, depth prospect
Ryan Johanson 4M cap hit = Nothing in return
Far as teams who have room to move Boeser to:
Montreal - Not taking on players but will be an in between to receive assets ex- Petry netted Montreal 4 assets between two trades
Chicago- Rebuilding they' may take him for nothing like Hall
Buffallo - Might do a swap sending Olofson back net change of 1.75M cap gained by Van doubtful though they may need space to chase a goalie if their tandem doesn't work
Nashville- Space would be better used on another Center
Anaheim- Still have Zegras and Drysdale to sign. Nothing will happen their until that dust settles.
Pray tell where is Vancouver trading/dumping players.

Yup a TJ Brodie buyout would be a 0 cap hit this season as well. Was back loaded as well another option

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>The ordinary buyout window closed on June 30. The only way that Murray can be bought out now is if (1) Ilya Samsonov files for arbitration, and (2) he wins an award or settles with Toronto.
I can just picture it now: Treliving sits down at the table across from Ilya and his agent and after they're settled in, says, "You know, just idly musing here, but you know what would help us? If Ilya filed for arbitration, and then after, say, oh, I don't know, a week or so to make it look good, settled with us for the figure YOU guys want."</div></div>
It's within the rules so doable. Players file for arbritation the majority of the time as it is.

A Matt Murray buyout will only be a $687,500 cap hit this season and 2M next. Saves 4 million. One more move besides most likely needed.

This is an amazing trade. There was no way Montreal would move Dach for PLD because they gave up the 12th overall and a 3rd for him. Instead the send a late 1st and 2nd out for Newhook. 🤣🤣🤣

(NSH/COL) - Johansen for Galchenyuk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ArmchairGM89</b></div><div>This move is so confusing as a Nashville fan. I knew ryjo was basically gone when Trotz was talking about his skating & the team needing to be faster. However, our biggest hole right now is at Center. The retention isn’t a surprise, I wish it was less than half but 4m is still a good amount of open space. Believe that gives the preds 20m or so. I really think Debrincat ends up in Nashville this week & they make a play for a center in trade or FA.</div></div>
There has bin rumblings that Nashville may buy out Duchenne or Johanson. With a buyout they would have had a 2.667 Mill cap hit over four years, or 2.667 million more then a buyout (10.667). Being able to get out of the contract without attaching a sweetener is a win for Nashville. They don't need the cap space this year but want the extra space in year free avoiding a buyout gets them.

Pld trade
My guess is their not sure if Kopitar will continue playing after next season or that byfield will be ready to fill his shoes. Ot they plan to run Kopitar Dubois Danault down the middle and go for it over the next few seasons.
I'm sure their was a conversation regarding grange before they made that trade but he wouldn't cut it. Still waiting to see who the teams are. But outside of Montreal and LA I'd guess Rangers and Panthers.
If New York offers Lefrenierre and Schneider. Or Florida offers Lundell which they might if they think they can run it back. Rangers and Habs also have 1st round picks this year. It's going to be expensive.

Your hoping byfield or clarke turn into a player of plds value right now their both question marks. If you hold onto a hope over a sure thing you'll eventually be disappointed. (Turcotte)

If LA was their only option to trade with maybe. Durzi offers LA value next year vs Clarke 2-3 years from now. One of their top prospects will need to be included. Don't think it's a forward with two forwards coming back in the deal. Durzi is small to the jets have enough small skilled d coming up heinola and Chisholm IE. Jets will pass on Durzi and move PLD elsewhere I reckon.

The Jets trade isn't to far off most likely, Kasper is a top ten prospect in the league and he's a center. You most likely would need to put in the 9th overall pick to pull off something that big, the karlsson trade is probably uneccessary. You'd be better off keeping Copp and Chariot. I'd take the two of them back on the Jets over Karlsson.

To early to tell. Vaisailin was a bust.
Heinola is just turning 22 I remember when Morrissey was considered a bust at the same age then he got his shot when Trouba held out.
Perfetti put up 30 points in 51 games while being defensively sound. I love how often he reads a play and breaks it up with his stick. He was injured but he's smaller let him put on some muscle he'll be fine.
Lucious has bin hit with the injury bug but looked good in the World Juniors and his short stint in the WHL
Mcgrotery put up solid numbers in the NCAA this year. Lambert has 17 points in 7 playoff games. Just 3 shy of Bedard 20 in 7, he's showing why he was considered a top 5 pick at one point playing against his own age group.
Even Stanley is a useful NHL defensmen. If only a 3rd pairing one.
We've bin drafting in the late teens other then Perfetti those guys usually take time. If KC played a year in college, went down to the A after 20 games. Then when he was called up he didn't go back down. Future isn't as bleak as it feels.

2011 1st rounder 7th over all Scheiff (top line center)
2012 1st rounder 9th overall Trouba (top pairing defenseman)
2013 1st rounder 13th overall Morrissey (# 1 Dman)

2015 1st rounder 17th overall Conner (top line winger)

2016 1st rounder 18th overall Stanley (NHL defenseman)
2017 1st rounder 24th overall Vaisailinin (4th line winger at best)
2019 1st rounder 20th overall Heinola (top four potential)
2010 1st rounder 10th overall Perfetti (top six winger)
2021 Lucious
2022 Mcgrotery/Lambert
Where's the Cold streak? Outside of Vaisailinin who was a late 1st round pick and Heinola who's only 22. 9 out of our first 11 1st round picks are doing quite well, ya Stanley is a bottom pairing dman but not a bust. Our recent three are to young to tell. Lambert is sitting at at 17 points in 7 playoff games, just three shy of what Bedard put up. Think they've done fantastic with our first round picks. Like to see the team with a better track record. Not a single bust let alone disapointment from 2nd to 17th overall. Stanley at 18th overall would like to see more from him but he had a rough year.

Yes what you'd be looking for is that 1-2 punch down the middle. Wright may get their but that could be 3-4 years down the road. More of a go for it now type of move. Wouldn't have to stunt the growth would be a way of insulating Beniers if needed.
