Yeah and thats what happens a lot at the trade deadline. But I agree those returns are optimistic. But when you see guys like Savard fetching a 1st + another asset you never know.

I suspect if the Jets had cap flexibility (trading a contract or a player going on to LTIR) they would recall Gustafsson to be the 4th line guy and not spend an asset for Perreault. Also a 5th or 6th round pick for Perreault is a more realistic return than a 2nd from whatever team he goes to.</div></div>
I agree, I just thought Winnipeg would like to have him back since he was a solid bottom 6 player for them. A second prob was a stretch but I could see him getting a 3rd or 4th.

Totally agree hes not worth a 1st. I just think theres a team somewhere who will overpay badly for him.

Yeah they might hold on to him. I just wanted to trade Chiarot to a playoff/cup contender in exchange of a first since Friedman said he could fetch that.

I am not sure that your package for Dvorak gets it done. The Bruins just learned that Krejci is leaving for the Czech Republic and have already been rumored to be interested in Dvorak: they may push really hard for him. The rumored asking price is a 1st, and the Canadiens' will have to probably add to that if they want him. Whether he is worth that or not - or whether they should pay it - isn't an argument that I will get into. :)</div></div>
Yeah Honka could be a really good fit in mtl since Bergevin is looking for another dman. And yeah with Krejci out of Boston, Sweeney will prob push hard for Dvorak.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Meeqs</b></div><div>So a bunch of trash for Dvorak, how could ARZ say no</div></div>
They've been taking bad contracts since the start of the offseason so I thought they might want Byron who is still a solid player (but now that we know he's injured I will have to rework the trade). Lehkonen is a solid young winger that could benefit from having more ice time. Fairbrother isn't anything special but he has some potential. Could see putting a 1st instead of a 2nd.

Ok interesting. Would have thought Chicago needed some solid defense, and Kulak can provide that even on the right side. Anyways the point was to trade him to a team who needs defense.

I heard rumors about colorado wanting to reunite drouin and mackinnon. Plus Colorado likely wont protect Graves for the expansion draft. For Bernier, I think he would say yes to finish his career in Quebec near his family and friends (maybe Im wrong tho). And for RFAs I agree with you I didnt think about it.

The Lehkonen and Armia numbers look low to me, but it’s pretty tough to predict how things will look for the middle tier in the off-season. Who would have predicted that Toffoli could be signed for a $4.25mm cap hit?</div></div>
Yeah exactly.
Thats why I've signed Danault and Tatar to similar deals as Toffoli cause I think Bergevin will use that contract as an argument. He will use it even more if Toffoli continues to play that well.
And for Lehkonen and Armia, it will really depend on if they want to stay in Mtl or not.

I'd prolly swap:
Cale Fleury or Mete in there for Harris (but definitely high hopes for him)
Caufield and Toffoli positions....not sure how well Caufield plays the off-wing
Contracts:
- I'd take all those contracts in a heartbeat....But I think all four will want more (i guess thats why you called it MAGIC BERGVIN)
--- Danault & Tatar ~ $5m range
--- Armia & Lehks -- $2.5-$3m range
------ but hey, Toffoli signed for noticeably lower than I expected, so maybe they all wanna stay.
Hate to see Byron go.....might be a cap casualty
--- KK will be interesting, prolly a bridge deal (maybe even only 2years)</div></div>
Yeah I agree with you. I tried to make all the contracts the lowest possible so it works and I ended up with 3M$ in cap so there is place for money raises on some contracts.
And yeah for Byron its sad but without giving him up, keeping everyone would be almost impossible. Maybe move Kulak instead of Byron or trade both together since Kulak has a decent value.
And for sure Fleury woud be nice to see in the lineup but Harris seems NHL ready and I would love to see him play.

I would not trade Tatar for Kovy if that’s what going to happen. Tatar is our best scorer and he deserves to stay.

It is in a sim league where ratings are different. Plus Manson is a solid D younger than Johnson. I maybe overpaid a bit but still.
