Please don't let this particularly salty peanut gallery get to you, this is the one of the best TMLAGMs yet
Dado & Weegs are both super underrated
You made good use of the young talent
Dougie is a perfect fit and 100% worth it
Those goalies give lg avg sv% for 2.6M
Nic Hague is a sneaky good prospect
My issues are Janko instead of Koivu/Leivo and yeah a bit more is needed to many of the trades to make them work fully, otherwise super cool beans :cool

Ah that makes sense. I looked for a description and didn't see anything and didn't even mentally register the title, lol
Yeah I'm not sure Laf is worth two high firsts, maybe we look back and he's a first ballot HOFer and we go "well he's worth it" but current assessment the only player who would have enough hype to pull that off would be possibly McDavid, that's it.
Also the Devils and Blues deals are still absolutely absurd

Leafs trade
if you think about it, this makes some sense. if it were 7th and 10/11th it would be fair. rielly will probably cost a lot when his contract expires, kapanen and johnsson are good top/mid six players that can help NJD because they’re weak in that area. rielly can be paired with subban. leafs can take two of drysdale, sanderson, askarov, holtz, raymond, lundell, rossi etc.... this draft is pretty open after the top 3.
then use that money to sign petro or krug, probably petro because he’s a RHD
d core becomes:
Muzzin-Holl
Sandin-Petro
Lehtonen-Dermott/Liljegren
or something like that. not exactly

Bjorkstrand is untouchable. You don’t trade your teams leading goal scorer after a career year when he missed half the games due to injuries...

Bjorkstrand trade gets turned down easily by the Jackets. We're fine on depth (the easy way one can tell is that we've been murdered by injuries and yet remain on the bubble); Bjorkstrand is the closest thing we have to a sniper right now. Not giving him up in a quantity deal. Maybe if we were getting that legit #2C it'd be given some thought, but the Leafs (in a practical sense*) don't have one to spare.

I think you underpaid for Ekblad + Knight. You could potentially ship Johnsson in that deal to make it more palatable. I also think you overpaid for Bjorkstrand and could remove that deal entirely.
I'm not entirely sure if Pittsburgh would trade Jarry, as he has been the better of the 2 Pitts goalies this year.
I'd be tempted to play Sandin with Ekblad and Chychrun with Lilly, just so that the experience is a little more spread out.
I would also run a Mikheyev-JT-Nylander 2nd line and have a Engvall-Kerfoot-Spezza 3rd line. I'd let Robertson hang out in the OHL/AHL for 1 more year

Trade Rielly to the Rangers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boomer125</b></div><div>Requires lots and lots of faith, this is the type of trade that would happen if TO was rebuilding and NYR was contending. Also NYR would have to pay a price for all that faith, Krieder is no better than either of the wingers sent over, this trade makes TO significantly worse overall while moving NYR significantly closer to contending</div></div>
Id argue it doesn't require a lot of faith at all. Fox is already thriving and Shesterkin has more than lived up to expectation. He is not a kid. He has dominated everywhere he has played. Even if he regresses from domination to only above average goalie this trade would be fine. Also i think this trade if it were to happen would happen in the offseason and not before the deadline. Krieder wouldn't be invloved in that scenario. Kreider is obviously currently better than Johnsson and Kapanen. I wouldn't rather have him over either of them since he will be a UFA and is older but this year he is most definitely better than both.

Trade Rielly to the Rangers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boomer125</b></div><div>First off the goalie situation in TO has been solved, Freddie is the starter and Campbell the back up (who has as much potential to be a starter as Georgiev) and secondly this makes no sense from either side, TO sends 2 40/50 pt wingers a legit Top Pairing LHD (on a more than reasonable contract) for what 25 games of Krieder (a 40/50 pt winger) a potential top pair RHD and a goalie they don't really need</div></div>
Look into the future a year or so and all these circumstances change. Having a 25 year old potential star goalie over a 32 regressing goalie would be quite the upgrade.

Who knows. Russo didn't say what player on the Leafs end was talked about, only what I quoted. I'd be pretty surprised if it was Gardiner unless we had a separate deal set up to move Brodin.

If you legit believe this then you have absolutely 0 credibility in any player assessment.
Why is Gardiner garbage? Explain that to me. There's no statistical evidence to support this whether you look at traditional or advanced metrics. He generally ranks inside the top 35 for all d-men whether you're looking at points, plus minus, CF % despite logging less PP time then most other d-men immediately above or below him....this statistically makes him a low-end top pairing or high end 2nd pairing d-man. But please, explain to me why he's garbage
Why is a 30 goal centre that can play PP, PK and play with an edge while on a terrific contract less valuable than a 2nd pairing defensive d-man that tops out at 20pts? 21pts was his career high with the University of New Hampshire so it's not like anyone's expecting him double that production at any point in his pro career. What position is harder for a team to fill...defensive d-man or 30g centre?

Fleury's not bad, but I agree. Kessel's been pretty solid. Williams and Fleury don't get him. Staal might fetch Brassard and either of Maata or Johnson, freeing the Hurricanes up to trade Fleury elsewhere for rookie scoring help, though, right?

According to Cane fans pretty much everyone is off limits and the value of each player is extremely high. Which is a bit strange considering they are currently trending towards missing the playoffs for the 10th straight year.
