A bust who cant stick in the NHL in Honka, a guy who looks ok in the AHL and a late 1st? That's not enough to entice the leafs to move Kapanen alone, let alone add in anything else, especially not liljegren.</div></div>

Dallas declines that. If they’re trading their 1st it’s for a more proven top 6 scorer. I also wouldn’t trade Robertson for Liljegren

With Dickinson already in the NHL, and Dellandrea likely there next year, Faksa’s “checking center” role is is still covered. Dallas isn’t moving Dellandrea, and they could get more for Faksa. Let Dickinson/Dellandrea fill Faksa’s role and get a good return for him in the process.</div></div>
To be honest I didn’t really put much effort into this post. Kind of made it in Vancouvers favour so I wouldn’t get ripped by them lmao but it was just something that came to my mind and I thought I’d put it out there and see what the feedback was. Although I like the idea of trading Klingberg for a solid scorer if we can bring in Pietrangelo, and I also think Harley will make the jump next season

Honestly Connor would be a better 1 for 1 swap with Klingberg. Dallas can add something for the age gap and contract length but that’s a much better fit in my eyes

This is how it’s been since 2015 tbh. Ever since Klingberg joined the team, all they had to do was add some supporting cast and they refused to do it. They wasted Benn and Seguins prime years. Tbh idk if their window is open much longer. 2 years tops?

I actually like this scenario. Although I don’t know how I’d feel about trading one of Klingberg or Lindell when the expansion draft rolls around just to replace them with Tyson Barrie. Now if we replaced one of them with Alex Pietrangelo then I think we got something.

He can yes. I was thinking something maybe of Lindell-Heiskanen and Harley-Pietrangelo? And I also like the Klingberg for Ehlers idea. Although I think they can get a bigger player for Klingberg + trading within the division probably isn’t good

Realistic Pietrangelo landing spot IF STL does not re-sign him
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Karr31</b></div><div>Let me first say, lot of moves and not sure all would work or be necessary, but I could get behind Pietrangelo coming aboard!
Re-signing Bow, L'Esperance would be iffy, Calderone likely not going to happen. I'd be ok with Perry but don't think likely, and would prefer to stay away from Frolik.
Last team I built on here, I also traded Faksa, but did so for a 2nd rd pick in this yr's deep draft. We could use more future assets after last year's buy & push. My team was labeled 'Poised' if want to see another approach.
A lot to like here though!</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>If only we had the money to re-sign Heiskanen, I'd probably consider it.
Also they should trade Lindell since they'd lose him for free in the expansion draft.
I'm opposed to trading Faksa, but that's nothing new. I value a great defensive C above an injury-prone middle-6 LW we don't really need.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Could definitely see Dallas as a possible top 5 destination for Alex Pietrangelo. It is not too far from his St Louis home. They'd be just as good as any.</div></div>
I agree with just about all of this here. Pietrangelo would be a great add and arguably give us the best d group in the league for a heat until we have to trade one of Lindell or Klingberg. Than the Heiskanen contract comes in and you’re looking at something like Chabots 8x8. I personally don’t like the Faksa/Johnsson trade for Dallas although it is fair but I’m bias to Faksa 😂 if Dallas can make it work though and grab their biggest rivals best player than I’m here for it

Heiskanen is the best dman now. It isn’t close anymore. He’s far and away the best dman there, and with Thomas Harley looking like he may be in the big club this season, they can probably afford to move him for scoring help

I was actually gonna do Faksa but he’s an RFA this summer so toronto wouldn’t be able to make it work. Dickinson is a super solid middle 6 guy than can play up and down the lineup and I thought him at 750K would benefit the leafs big time

Hockey-reference.com shows them being quite even both offensively and defensively, but the biggest difference is the zone starts for each players. According to them, Makar's offensive zone starts are 10% higher than Heiskanen's, so it's not a miracle he has more points. Heiskanen is used more as a defensive D-man than Makar is.

They don’t wanna know this tho cause it won’t fit their narrative. Heiskanen is the superior one as of now

Makar isn’t as good. Makar is flashy with his skating and puts up more points. That’s really it. Heiskanen is miles ahead defensively and way more rounded
