Calgary would also be a great fit for Klingberg. (They need a 1st Line D.)</div></div>
The first line has been the least of their issues this year. I can't see PIT selling since they're comfortably in the playoffs. CGY previously had interest in Zucker and it feels like PIT is willing to let him walk for next to nothing. His advanced numbers are still good so it could be a solid cheap add for them to round out their middle six which they need without moving big assets.

Edmonton Oilers signed Evander Kane (1 Year / $2,108,696 AAV)
Some see this as a hockey player signing. I see this as the Oilers depositing $1.375M USD into the local community via the casinos.

I intended this as the Flames probably shouldn't give up more assets to get Hertl after giving up a lot to Dallas already. It's probably a decent package for Hertl on its own though.

I don't dislike either trade on its own, but if the Flames managed to get Pavs from DAL, I don't think they should/would give up substantial assets for Hertl as well. I also imagine Dallas might be looking for a bit more youth in their package but overall the assets going out seem okay.

Attempt at a new greenway trade
I don't know a ton about Greenway but I would consider giving that a long look. The other question would be what you think his potential contract could look like this summer as the Flames have a few other players that will need big raises (Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane, Kylington).

who do you think
I think we would perhaps see a slightly younger B prospect like a Ruzicka or a Pettersen over Phillips but I think the main package is probably accurate.

This has got to be all Darryl Sutter so I hope he has some master plan up his sleeve. This makes no sense when you could've signed him for 800k in a month.

If healthy that could be a steal for Carolina, but I don't trust his health. Maybe just sign the young goalie you developed and was a stud last year instead of trading him for a 3rd to save 1.5M?

Why would Carolina do this? He just signed an extension for 3M and 2 years, that shouldn't break their bank. Nedelkjovic led the league in SV% and GAA last year among goalies with 15 GP. This might be the heist that made the Red Wings into a contender if he continues to improve.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MauriceArthur15</b></div><div>Bud im not defending the trade...
Re-read what I said. To sum it up I said if you are not offering Mangiapane to other teams or listening in on Mangipane you are not doing your job as the Flames GM. There's something wrong with the culture with Flames and a full retool needs to be completed for the Flames. They can chose to trade Mangipane or not but the locker room needs to switch up.</div></div>
I'll just chalk it up to you not being a Flames fan I guess, but Mangiapane is one of the very few things that were right with the team and the type of culture they wanted to create. He's on a great deal for next season already, I just don't see him being available I guess barring something absolutely ridiculous being offered.

He played at just short of a 50 point pace this season, his analytics are stellar, with guys like Mangiapane and Tuch it would be a really strong second line imo. I agree though that this doesn't leave the 3C spot looking to hot, perhaps you look at a veteran option like Danault but I also believe the Flames have to give their young guys a shot next year. You can also Ryan around in the bottom six as well.
