Sounds like, you need to see what comparable players went for on the market buddy. #RickNash

I completely disagree with the trade. Max Pacioretty has a way higher market value than Mark Stone. We're talking about a consistent 30 to 39 goal scorer every season except last year. You can definitely squeeze more out of that trade.

I like it, I don't like the trade though, Pacioretty has a bigger market value then Nuge, and Byron is putting up good numbers too. That's overpaying in my opinion, I'd take Byron out of there and I'd be happy with it.

JEssuuuuusss.... Finally someone with some common sense. I Like your Montreal trade, I personally want Montreal to keep their 3rd overall, But if they were to do that trade, I'd be okay with it.

The only reason this kid ain't the number 1 goaltender for MTL, is because of Carey Price. Every one knows, unfortunately if you're a great ascending goaley that gets drafted in Montreal, you will be in Price's shadow until he leaves.

Your right, but just because we have depth doesn't mean we need to dump him and our 1st rounder. I'm all about trading positions where we have depth if we can get a good decent return for it. which is not the case in that deal

No it's not possible. I mean , why would Toronto trade 2 younger TOP end players for two older top End players. It would be the worse move Toronto could ever make.

Habs 18 + Draft switch with CAR
I think its more than enough, Zadina and svechnikov are not that far apart. However, I doubt this would happen. I think if Carolina want Zadina , they'll just take him at second and MTL would pick up Svechnikov. I don't see a trade happening for that close of players.

Montreal - Best case scenario
I think that is overpaid for O'reilly. I also think Mtl Can't afford to trade another Defense Prospect. I'd like to see the O'reilly deal happen, however I'd rather use Max Pacioretty as a trading value. Lekhonen is gonna be a stud, the kid is impressive. I'm also on board with the signing of Paul Stastny.

SMART Realistic MOVES
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Montreality25</b></div><div>So Duclair who was a third round pick himself and is now on his third team because hes underperforming is now worth a 2nd round pick?
Habs - Oilers trade is more realistic</div></div>
Its not about what he was when he got drafted, but about his market value, and although he did not do great in the past few seasons, hes a 22 year old kid who's proven to have a great talent at the NHL level and I do think he has lots of potential. He's also not at his 3rd team for Underperforming, The New York trade to Arizona was simply a hockey transaction, he was not underperforming in New York, its expected that a 18-19 year old kid doesn't kill it right away and needs to be sent back down a few times for his development. He did very well in his first season in Arizona and then **** went downhill. Can you blame the guy for playing in Arizona? Anyways, I think that any team who wants rights to Duclair as we speak, will need to give 2nd rounder for him. Turnsout Montreal has 4, and I'm giving the highest second rounder, which is the last pick of the second round. It is in my opinion, very realistic.

True, However I would like to have a proven NHL Product in exchange for Patch. Not a fan of trading a guy whos consistently scored 30 to 40 goals a year for a prospect. It's kind of unknow, I like the O'reilly idea.

Habs can Trade Pacio for a Center, and sign statsny for maybe 3 year at 7 million. I don't see him getting more than that anywhere else

Those trades... Make no sense for either teams. All of those trades are overpaid. Rights to duclair can be acquired for very cheap like a second round draft pick. Jesperi Kotkaniemi is 17 Years old... Even if Montreal was to draft him, You most likely won't see him in the NHL for at least another 3 years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>Panties in a bunch?
On paper it’s fair value. Oilers still pass, 3 years of RNH for 1 year of Max who likely walks after 1 and they downgrade in draft to do it is not good business sense. But it’s Chiarelli so he’ll probsbly thrown in McDavid for Petry and calli it a day.</div></div>
A lot of details to that deal can move to the left or right but, Another option Montreal could do is a Sign and Trade deal, where they agree to a contract with Pacioretty and then trade him. Adds alot of value to Pacio knowing he wont be asking 9 million if he has a great year in edmonton.

I think thats an unfair assessment, Pacioretty litterally score 30 to 39 goals and over 60 points consistently each season except last year which was a really bad year for MTL, He's been on the trade block for a while now and it definetely impacted him last season. I actually think Edmonton is really interested in Pacioretty... It's in my opinion a very plausible scenario.

Totally, Chicago was just thrown in there as an example, Hense why I made sure to state that it could be any other team. Basically I just don't see shaw in MTL's picture any more.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SammyT_51</b></div><div>My thinking in that deal would be that Perreault is taking much more of a cap space than 2.5mil Shaw. They could let their younger guys play higher and developing them right in the game (Vesalainen, Roslovic) with veterans while Perreault would provide neccesity for MTL at C. And he is french-canadien! :D Shaw on the other hand is great playoff performer and he might really be that one piece which would take WPG to another level.</div></div>
I agree, I'd love to see perreault for sure. At the end of the day, I've just been seeing lots of unrealistic trades out here, and Although all the talk is around Tavares, I still think that even with Tavares's acquisition , MTL would need one more center. So yea, I'd be happy with perreault or any other decent Center we could score a deal with for sure.

I think that's way too much for Matt Duchene. I'd take Lindgren out of there. I still think that with this configuration, Montreal needs one more centerman, Drouin isn't a centerman and if they want to get everything they can out of him, they need to play him Wing.
