A real aggressive re-tool after season begins
flyers fans need to send a message to ownership that whats going on is not acceptable. i want 10k max in the barn and all team sales down hit em where it hurts in the wallet. never in my life have i been this apathetic about this team going into this season

I can say, in near absolute certainty, the Flyers don't view Provorov as a "dumping" candidate

Its inconceivable he isn't worth twice as much as those guys. I know its different style of play. Those guys were tough forwards, but Giroux is bolstering someones top 2 lines with offensive production. I don't know if he's being undervalued by fans because of how poorly the flyers are playing, but Giroux is quite literally the only one keeping them somewhat competitive game to game this year. Singlehandedly. No one wants to overpay for a rental, but you are asking a team to trade the face of their franchise for the last decade, still playing well. Then if the flyers retain half to make the cap easier to maneuver for the remainder of the year... only enhances value.</div></div>
Coleman wasn't a rental so that doesn't count. As for Giroux's rental value, nobody will move a blue chip prospect but he should get a return similar to either Hall or Iginla. It should also be noted that Pavelski and Hertl are on the same market and have similar value.

1st + one of Addison/Lambos/Beckman. They would probably want Addison. For retention, that probably cost a 2nd in value

Murray for Hart, Murray is washed up and can't stay healthy, Hart is a future top 5 goalie in the league, Sens would take this and run with it.

I'm doubling down on that one.</div></div>
I don't love it either, but I'll break away from the other Wings fans in this thread and at least say your reasoning and thought process is sound. As already touched on, we wouldn't be sending any real asset back (think a 5th round pick or middling prospect at most), but I wouldn't hate this for a short term move to accrue assets.

Yeah this isn’t that serious but I do honestly think they try for Johnny, don’t think it would cost nearly as much as people think it would for him if he’s unwilling to resign with Calgary (which is a big if).
And yeah to make that work long term some other things (probably 2nd pair RHD is gonna be a big weak spot.

From a hockey point of view it's nuts. The only way I can make sense of it is if seabrookes contract was uninsured and the Hawks owner just didn't want to pay him for nothing and instead are paying Johnson roughly the same to at least be an okay, but over paid, nhler

I will say this though, if they could sign him to a Konecny like long term deal, i'd do that in a heart beat. But something tells me his team is gonna bet on him and do a bridge deal as he is showing promise to be a really good player.</div></div>
If he signed a similar deal to Konecny and they both took steps forward that would be like another 2 Couturier contracts. Although TK didn't have the year I think we all hoped he would I still feel like he played well enough for the contract he has. Wouldn't be shocked to see him look close to 19-20 TK this season

CHUCKY ISNT DONE
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mintyfresh</b></div><div>I was thinking about them taking some JVR retention as well so each team gets a little bit of a bail out in that area. You are probably right though! I paid too much for that retention, but thats minor changes. I think the fact that it is multiple seasons got in my head, but yea 2 3rds is too much.</div></div>
If we're sending them a 3rd to also retain a little bit on JVR (hell even like $500k), I'm about that. I'm pretty sure there's limits on the amount of individual retentions a team can do though, and that would seem like a no go for ARI. Maybe ARI ups the retention on Tarasenko to $2M (for two 3rds) and you guys do the 500k retaining on JVR. You get Tarasenko at $5.5M, we get JVR at $6.5M. Would still cost the same against your cap.

While I think you've been too generous for Arizona's retention (and that Arizona is likely be the wrong team to use in that role), you're right about the free agency factor and your offer is pretty good. Whether it gets beaten or not, I don't know. Right now it feels like Vova will stick around for at least a while, and if that happens I'm confident he can raise his value.

He has no leverage to ask for that price on a long term deal after being the worst starting goalie in the league last year. I don't even think either side is looking long term probably in the 2 year 2-3 million range you suggested

I agree Risto is underrated. However Philly overpaid significantly in this trade. If you remove the 2nd in 2023 and add 50% retained, the trade is even. But wow.
